Yes exactly, glad you thought about it that way.

Thought about it myself already and have that setup, just have not tried it. If you get better rolls and more dmg you can even consider wearing Halo of Arlyse & SoJ or CoE and use Ice Armor. You will drop some dmg from obvious sources but stay alive better.

It all depends what level you can speedfarm. I mostly use my keys to farm higher GR's than I think this build would be able to speedfarm easily, so I think it will shine the best on Tx

Well my wiz has a lot of catching up to do to get to that point then. But something fun to aim for. I am on like barebones Firebird's and rubbish gear otherwise. Been having rubbish luck with drops so far.

The start is defo not as easy for us as it is for other classes. During the leveling process we did most of the dmg, then you hit 70 and quickly get 6 set pieces and the other classes start to do massive burst dmg while you are left with a DOT playstyle.

25% boost from burning enemies, 600% from elites. That means you need to get them burning 1st, while others just did the boom dead thing. Did feel like I was getting carried in T6 etc for a while there.

Steadily I climbed in power as I geared and then things changed when I was able to play DMO and then with the farming build. Was a more steady climb to power than other classes seemed to have had, but was worth the wait and very rewarding and fun play styles imo. Brings back memories and I'm happy I went back to my roots with the Wiz.

Set drop was few and far between for quite some time. Thought I was cursed as the only set items I had well into the game was the 6 FB's I received while others already picked up tons.

Then from Sunday/Monday things started to go better.

Agreed, Wiz really has the short end of the stick when it comes to the free set. And like you say, they have to be burning. Not just the initial dot, but the actual infinite dot that gets activated when enough damage has been done.

For most of T6, that is actually the point where the mobs die, so we have practically ZERO power spike from the set. The set only shines in GRs where white mobs and elites will all live long enough to activate the dot and burn for some time. That way you can keep kiting burning mobs towards the next pack and keep some kind of damage scaling going.
But by that point, the other sets tend to outshine it on GR pushing. And if you want to take it into T10 where the mobs might burn for long enough, you have to first get hold of a whole host of other uniques that scale your own damage reduction, so that you can survive the beating until you get them burning.

So firebirds really is a strange set.

Most other class sets have their defenses built into it. Which should have been the natural choice for the starter set. I think teh Archon set would have been the better choice.

For some odd reason, some of the gem recipes haven't dropped yet (Diamonds Upgrade to Royal) - without that damned recipe I cant craft a Flawless Royal!

Yes! Same issue :wtf:

Stuck with some ridiculous emerald in my weapon (the round one). Do they drop more readily in bounties as opposed to rifts?

Bounty rewards are full of recipes. Got a gem recipe in every one, until I had them all

Bounties are so tedious, especially playing solo. *yawn*

Guess they have to be done though...

Where else do you get the act specific crafting loot from though?

Yeah I know, just compared to fighting through rifts, bounties are bit... meh.

On another note, anyone else having issue accessing the Friends tab on your battle.net profile? Anytime I click on it, it takes me back to the page which lists my heroes...

If you guys want to start a a few bounty runs count me in! I was doing it solo last night... Takes ages when solo and the "public games" is filled with scum that all want to do the same bounty together.

Yeah, don't do them solo. Just join a public group for your appropriate skill level. Since everyone does a different one its not really an issue, you almost never see the other people.

Is it just me joining public groups that all do the exact same bounty together. Not same act, same frikking bounty...

Past season pub bounty groups was fine, but I'm totally in for spit bounties. Always better with people you know. Just poke me and get a group going.

I guess they don't want to miss out on drops?

I do Bounties for the bounty rewards not for drops. The reward caches is my drops. The whole point of doing bounty runs for me is to finish them ASAP to get all the crafting material, rewards and caches.

If that means running through 100 pack of elites so be it :)

If I want to run with my party it must be when we are doing Rifts and Greater Rifts.

But I guess this is all personal preference...

You need to do bounties

Bounty rewards are full of recipes. Got a gem recipe in every one, until I had them all

Oh ja, forgot - do you get a bonus for doing them above a certain T level?

Don't like public games either - too many immature players

Snow. myself, Vrot, Sinbad are usually game to to do a split bounty - only issue is some of those guys want to do it on T10 for some reason, which if you're not really T10 ready leaves you feeling a bit of a leech

Will be yes

Okay cool, I must admit I am actually amazed that you don't experience the same as me with public groups and bounties. I also thought it might be a once off thing the first time. So I left the game and joined a new one with different players and the exact same thing happens.

Then 2 or 3 days later the same **** again, so I just started my own private game and went solo.

Do any of you know if I do bounty runs on normal difficulty, keep the caches in my inventory, exit the game, start a new T10 game and then open the caches if I will get more and better items than in normal difficulty?
