Was unable to play last night as well...
Just got my 6 piece firebird 2 nights ago, next step is to get the free cosmetic pet...
Not sure what to do after that, should I play another character and get the free sets there or should I carry on with my wizard and try to gear up?

Really up to what you want to do. For some its leveling things, for most its gearing a guy properly and doing higher GR's etc.
You just hit 70, so imo you just really started the game.

Firebird set is not that great. I'd suggest you get the DMO set/build going as it's way more fun. Then there are always the speed farming builds that's insanely fun to play around with, set dungeons and more...

You cannot unlock another free set. You get one free set per season, per account. NOT per character. So as Snow suggested, just get down to some gear farming and playing on the Wiz.

Firebird's is very awkward.
Disintegrate-convergence is the staple spell for it. But honestly the straight line play style annoys the crap out of me. Monsters constantly flanking me slows the run down. I have switched over to Wave of Force - Heat Wave. With Explosive blast - Chain Reaction (Wand of Woh equipped, Focus farmed out of the cube recipe).

My other 4 slots are Teleport with stun, ice armour, familiar - arcanot, magic weapon - deflection.

It allows me to teleport into a pack and spam until everything around me is dotted up. Which is pretty quick. Then when they turn around and hit me, my Illusionist passive procs, which resets my teleport cooldown. So I just blast into the next pack and drag the dotted up stragglers with me.
The damage is slightly less on a single target than Disintegrate is. But because you dot up everything, without fancy kiting and positioning, you clear a rift much quicker than with Disi.

The only two requirements aside from the Firebirds set are Goldwrap for defenses and WoWoh to increase EB damage by a lot.

Some things that help me are the Scourge weapon enchant in my cube, and cindercoat also in the cube. They improve my efficiency but they dont make or break the build.

I do however suggest Scourge enchant for any firebird's build if you can find the weapon and haven't gotten one of the wizard specific high tier enchants yet. It procs 2000% fire damage in a radius equal to EB, with a 45% chance on attack. Even if you like Disintegrate, this enchant works wonders. It helps to take care of those pesky flankers.

Oh well, guess I'm stuck with the wizard until the end of the season then :)

I am keen to maybe get into an all wizard farming session tonight if possible. I really need to start finding some more gear. And solo running is not giving me much luck.

On a side note. Can Rift Guardians still drop legendary gear? I have probably done 10 to 15 normal rifts on T6 in the last 2 days and not one of the rift guardians has dropped a legendary or set item. I get shards and forgotten souls no problem, but not one leg. I remember T1 rift guardians basically had a 100% chance to at least drop 1. So what gives?

Same problem here for me. Solo normal rifting on T6/7 yields little to no legs.

I ran in a pub game last night farming some GR keys and got way more from doing the GRifts .

Yes, me and Sinbad also got more out of Grifts than normal... Not sure if it is luck or some game mechanics of D3

I'm keen most of the time, if I'm not doing something specific like a solo GR (which is not a lot of the time :p) . People just need to poke me, I'm usually just there in TS doing my thing in game till others jump on TS or someone invites me.

Even if I'm doing T10 runs, any1 is welcome even if they not T10 ready. It's just on them to keep up and stay alive.
I'll give 1 or so things I'm really looking for, all else I can pass on, so we can do some nice loot sharing.
