A necromancer only arriving this time next year and a limited time only event where the diablo 1 dungeon is recreated in D3 using 16 levels of Ruins of Corvus repainted? Pathetic.

FTFY

This Blizzcon was not great for Diablo :(

Quoting below from another forum, guy nailed it on the head...

Blizzard is doing exactly what they want, most of their time and energy into bloody World of Warcraft... and why not? It brings in a lot of money for them, makes a lot of business sense.

What do you guys think?

Hey there,

I am still kinda in shock and disappointed about the announcements...

I understand sure, Blizzard doesnt make a lot of money of the diablo franchise.
Lots of changes and replacements last couple of months in the developer team of diablo 3.

But in 2 years all they come up with are 1 class and 2 zones?!
Ok we had patches like 2.4 with new game changing mechanics (cube).

But since the launch of 2.4, almost year ago, give us some new gamemodes, mechanics (cube a like) something more than just 1 class, 2 zones.
Higher torment levels... i dont kmow.

The dissappointment also comes through the hype and tension build ober the last months.

Dice conspirancy, diablo 20th anniversary, tweet: "diablo fans will lose their **** blizzcon 2016!"... no news at gamescom at all and now all we get is

ONE CLASS and TWO ZONES?!

I forgot diablo 1 in diablo 3...well not really mentionable. play it through ones and done, will take only a couple of days of my playtime.

Edit:

Wasnt by the job listings the description somewhat like..."looking for designer for a new game in the diablo universe; for a unnannounced project diablo universe"

Did they change their plans?

If the D3 Dev Team had at least followed the WoW Dev Team, I'd be slightly happier over the announcements (WoW Dev Team went into a 'Whats Next' breakdown, detailing whats going to be implemented in the upcoming patches)

Reinstalling D2 I guess for that Necro experience while we wait until the next Blizzcon to play D3's Necro :(

wait... what?? Is it not going to be available soon??

"2nd half of next year" with speculation it'll be roughly 4 seasons away, putting the release date around 12 months from now (if each season is 3 months long)

From what I've read the D1/Anniversary Event will take place in January

The class was available to a select few at Blizzcon, however only 6 spells actually worked :(

It's like the class is still in early alpha :erm:

Yup, thus our disappointment... if they were going to announce anything exciting, it should have been an expansion or confirmation that they are working on a D4

When Blizzard rolled out a new version of Diablo 3 to its public test realm (PTR), it snuck in several graphics upgrades with the gameplay changes it announced.

Where previously there was just a checkbox to enable anti-aliasing, there is now a dropdown, as well as a box to enable SSAO, or screen space ambient occlusion.

With the new graphical options cranked to maximum, there is a marked difference. Everything looks crisper.

A comparison makes non-PTR Diablo 3 look downright blurry. Click on the images below to enlarge them.

For a side-by-side comparison, check out two comparisons posted on Imgsli with a character in town, and in a combat zone.

More here. Not sure it's enough to get me back into it tbh...

The seasons have gotten stale (possibly because there weren't any new additions to the game in S08) - it's now just a race to see who can get their ancients first + plvl grind the fastest. There were so few barbs this season I managed 202 on the leaderboard completing a GR45 a day after the season started :erm:

While the S08 portrait is nice and refreshing, it's still the same old complete X, Y and Z to unlock yet another bag slot.

All my stash items from the previous season just get deleted and 1-3 characters get rebirthed each season regardless

I haven't touched my non-season characters since the break between season 03 and 04... extra stash space is wasted on me

Enjoying the stash changes in 2.5.0 so far, it made consolidating chars and cleaning out much simpler. Now we just need that Necro already :D
