Diablo 3 has an excellent campaign. The seasons as well are initially fun but once you start the grind for that extra 1% that pushes you the next rift level, it gets a bit tedious. If it's not your thing, you tend to lose interest quite quickly. Not sure what it costs to buy D3 now but it might not be worth it if you just want it for the campaign...

One of my biggest gripes as well, coming in July:

(you can remove all the added details, to make it look even clearer)

Many other graphics improvements coming as well, including brand new water!

In any event - Don't want to interfere in the D3 thread, but a heads up for anyone looking for an ARPG fix - PoE is launching a huge expansion in July, and the beta started today, so check out the information that's coming out currently, there's lots of news. And give it a go when it launches!

Or, if you prefer, there's always the necromancer...

:D - let me know when they've fixed it and I might try it again

In my opinion, the campaign is lack lustre and the expansion is tedious. Probably due to me playing the game too much. Currently doing seasons 10, DH Shadow Impale build pushing onto 100 solo/team. I completed the entire campaign with the same DH on Torment 13. The game was on special some time ago, the Battle Chest was going @ $29.99.

I am waiting on the next season which should see the Necromancer leave beta, but everyone will be playing Necro, so I’m considering my 1st Crusader, whether it will be a viable option in season 11.

Haha we not helping Cius here! I have heard that people didn't enjoy the campaign, mainly from people who played D2. Did you? I never did (sinful, I know! :p) so I guess I had nothing to compare it to. I enjoyed the story, the gameplay and the cinematics. What did get old very quickly however was RNG with respect to the items. Playing as a barb and an item would drop with an INT roll :wtf: I think if I had to play the campaign for the first time with the updated drop ratios, it would be amazing (for me).

I really enjoyed D3 in terms of the campaign and the general feel of the game (although I'd really have preferred if it was a bit grittier).

The gameplay though, just could not sustain my interest. When it got the point where they just started adding on difficulty levels, for the sake of a slightly higher wall to jump over, I'd just had enough.

The game has been extremely tuned now with 2.5.0, it is much more accessible and more things are coming, especially with the Necro pack. The campaign is not bad, but it has aged. The game is totally now in adventure mode, grind, grind and MOAR grind. I only did the campaign again to unlock more achievements. I like pushing the rifts, I don't even loot anymore, unless it is my build items which I will roll and roll... you know the grind. As soon as I can't push anymore, I will wait on season 11.

Yes D3 is worth it imo. Fun to play.

PoE on the other hand does not nearly look as good or play as well imo, but has a sh#tton of things for ppl who like it. Far more complicated.

Have you played it recently / did you ever reach endgame?

I'm not here to get into a pissing contest about a game bud. The guy asked a question in a D3 thread so I gave my opinion like the others here, which is just that, an opinion. I'm sorry if that hurt your feelings, as it was not aimed at you.

I also do not see what endgame has to do with how the game looks and feels/plays according to 1 person's opinion. Where it excels imo, is all it has to offer and how its far more complicated (maybe the wrong word?) than D3, in a good way.

People should take the comments / opinions of others as just that and then try for themselves and decide.

That was most certainly not my intention - I just asked as the game has had many improvements on the graphics front over the past while, and the reason I asked about end-game was due to the manner in which the game scales (it feels better and better as you go, giving a nice sense of progression). If I have any motivation to mention it here every half a year or so, it's simply to suggest trying out an amazing ARPG to those who clearly like the genre (and one that is improving all the time).

With you on this, I have tried it numerous times and never got to "end game" as I lost interest way before that. :p
D3 for me is much more fun... :whistling:

That being said, I feel my opinion would have been reversed had I played POE before D3...
As is the case with WoW, I have played many MMO's and WoW have destroyed any other MMO experience if I can say it like that.

QFT hahahaha.

I played PoE quite a while, and a whole bunch of us got going. I thought it was quite good. In the end, we all came back to D3 anyhow. Maybe it's time to give it another looksee. :D

If you want to try it, I suggest waiting for 3.0, which is due to launch around the middle of next month. I'll give you guys a heads up when we're close.

I think I'll do that. My brother is also quite into PoE at the moment. For the time being, I'll keep at EU4 and see if I can get my Three Mountains achievement :)
