Also, when people post the 10min run times, does that take into account those 'empty' rifts - 'cos there are plenty of those.

Doing 10 rifts should give you a pretty good average. Also, ideally your build should have skills which help with those really sparse rifts.

There is something wrong with a game when ONE of your pets deal more damage than highly geared players in full force.
That is true but will have to wait till it is fixed in 2.1, just got a copy of guild wars 2 going to take a break till ladders hit.
Need a change of pace otherwise i will get tired of not set drops of which i need a Zuni and i havent seen any drops of that so far.

In my case - vault - I can do 8 consecutive before running out of discipline

I'm starting to venture into T6 but it's really hard to know/gauge what the correct level is that you need to be.

So, at the moment I'm up to 13.5 Tough with 1.8 sheet dps - if I drop that dps to 1.6 sheet I can bump the tough to 15.1.

Have a good few boosters (eg wolf cry takes me to 2.3 plus the %dmg on multishot, etc).

So it's still a trade-off for me - again, not sure how to gauge what it regarded as good for T6 rift.

Also, when people post the 10min run times, does that take into account those 'empty' rifts - 'cos there are plenty of those.

22 Mill toughness Wizard have a hard time in T6 solo. Unity ring changes things drastically and ppl who post about quick solo rifts almost always use unity.

Sub 10 minutes is a general +- time. If I find a really good populated rift its a lot quicker. Remember Rift guardian is on a kill number (999 mobs killed) and not a timer / xp etc type thing.
So when you find a Rift with loads of small, weak mobs it goes really really quickly.

@rakabos3 Decent yard stick for dps, not so much for toughness :)

Post your DPS with the hexing pants and wolves howling. And for good fun do the same with Sharpshooter enabled :D Should be close to 3m

Ha ha - 2.3m sheet with those two - requires a definite change in playstyle - I now run around all the time and vault through mobs - definitely keeps one involved - favourite tactic in passages - drop turret - vault down passage - drop another turret - vault back - drop another.

Have a knockback proc on the turrets so the the turrets play 'ping-pong' :D

haha thats nice.

As a Wizard you have basically 3 options

- Go dps & Toughness. Then u usually have up to 1.2 mill sheet dmg with nice elemental & elite dmg, decent toughness but have to stand still to do the dmg or play around a 50 sec Archon CD.
- Go CRD and almost have perma Archon (7-10 sec effective cd on it). DPS drops to around 800k sheet with not much elemental. Archon gives you a dps (but still so much lower than others) & toughness boost. Its fun & very mobile
- Get a Wow, some CDR. Dmg also drops to around 800k sheet but Wow makes it viable

The wizard need some sort of tank companion, not that useless ball of nothing floating around its head. That in itself will aid immensely. If you take a DH for example having so many pets than can tank makes it easily survivable on T6.

Agreed. I find it impossible to solo higher Torment levels.

/sigh

did a couple T4 runs last night, it's disheartening sometimes watching stronger players blow the crap out of everything whilst I'm standing there try to beat a demon to death with what feels like a pool noodle (not that I didn't enjoy the run, but I just really felt like a spare part).

I feel like I'm on a cusp at the moment, T1 and T2 I can handle solo so my survivability is good, T3 I still feel like I'm make a contribution in a group but doubt I can run solo, T4 well, see above.

Probably time to do some planning with my build again and decide what I want, last few weeks I've just happily run around rifting for the hell of it, but with no real focus on what I need to develop my build further.

This game...
