I'm getting a decent amount of legendaries must say...

If you want to farm for items or XP I really think full runs are they way to go. ie killing a lot of mobs with 5 stacks, not just 2 or 3 and a keywarden like you do on key runs.

Most of the legendaries I've seen have come from trash mobs (or even lone trash monsters)

It's all pretty random, opened up a random chest while I was walking back from a dead end waiting for Spirit to regen so I could Tempest Rush again, and pop, legendary comes out.

When that happens you're always like, OMG!! I'm gonna open EVERY chest!! :D

Anyway, I probably kill only 75% of trash mobs and I feel the legendaries come often enough. I run MP1 at the moment though, I think running higher MPs its worth it to kill all the trash.

That's definitely true. Killing EVERYTHING is the way to go. The legendary drops from elites are the minority, most come from whites.

Anyone who wants a Shaeffer's Hammer 11041.4 dps, 61STR, 123INT (2H) or Messerschmidts Reaver 1068.7 dps, 475 STR, 185 VIT? Ganna brimstone them so let me know ASAP.

Latency issues have stabilisedfor me... biggest spike was 350ms. Generally around 220-250ms.

Hope it stays this way.

hmm, be careful there. It really depends on your farming style. Gromlek for example I think skips ALL trash and he gets a lot of sweet gear by killing elites only. If you can kill an elite pack every 1-2 minutes they drop plenty of lengendaries and killing all whites starts to feel like a waste of time.

Might be if you are only in it for the items, but I want XP too.

At which MPlevel?

I've recently changed tactics -

1 - complete inferno (all four acts)
2 - gear up to be able to farm at MP levels - my current build handles inferno act 1 with zero problems - the moment I switch on MP 1, boom, I'm dead

At which MPlevel?

I'm running MP1. With my current build I can blaze through Act 3 MP1.

MP1 vs MP2: Moster health 75% more, damage 16% more. For this you get 10% more XP, 25% more MF and 25% more gold find, and 7% to the bonus item.

Considering the amount of MF I run the 25% bonus is no game changer. 10% more XP when you on 130% odd with 5 stacks is really negligible. Gold find, cute. The bonus item, only affects whites, not so important if you mainly elite hunting. I will admit, that maybe this bonus item could be a big reason to rather do higher MP's and killing all trash, but I'll wait for some more data on that.

The increase damage I could probably live with. But the 75% extra health will slow be down big time and give me problems. Right now a 4 second serenity pretty much ensures I can down most mobs without running the risk of dying. More monster life would totally throw this out of whack and I'd probably be forced to kite every now and again for the nasty mobs.

Well, there you have my reasoning why I'm not only sticking to MP1 for now, but actually geared towards it. I've run higher MPs before, but this for me is just way WAY more efficient.

For me the con's of moving up to a higher MP outweigh the pro's. Remember, apart from the MF bonus and the bonus item drop you stand NO greater chance of picking legendaries and what not moving to a higher MP. To carry on from this line of thinking, if you can farm MP1 easily, wearing tons of (150+) MF gear, good chance you going to see more legendaries drop then if you had to run 0 MF and MP3. IMO.

Gearing an MP1 high MF killing machine might also be easier/cheaper than gearing up a 0 MF MP4 toon.

Man, I'm bored...I could go on and on. hehe

Hmmm, interesting.

I think I may look for some MF gear then, cos right now, Act 1 MP4 is a breeze.

Been doing full runs of act 3 on mp3/4 with no luck on gear, but now trying Pony Land to see how that goes.

Glad the lag is finally gone, I am using a barbarian

I have tried farming MP with my monk but it dies so fast :(

Ok how does one find it? :)

Search for "Staff of Herding" info on web. You have to find a couple components, craft the staff and then go to that hole with cow bones in Act 1. Sure there will be an in-depth walkthrough somewhere online.

MP1 vs MP2: Moster health 75% more

50% for those of us that can do maths (150% vs 225%, so the increase is 50% Mp1 vs MP2) :p Which makes the rest of the argument a bit more blurry

edit: and if you are farming act3, where all mobs are ilvl 63 anyway, why are you not running MP0 for elite farming?... Less HP, less damage, same rewards essentially ;)
