As far as I understand, the ITEM patch won't be before Blizzcon.

This does not stop other patches, surely?

Patches to fix bugs, sure, but there won't be game changes, they're putting everything into one big patch after blizzcon, which is what I've read from various Q&As with Blizz dev/whatevers.

What sorta gold drops do u see? I see upto 4000 piles from time to time. I know its affected by goldfind but how do these guys expect to get paid a billion for an item on the AH ? Bots? People buying gold with real money ?

They've said it won't be before, but that doesn't mean it's going to be directly after either. I've read some dev posts where they have said that the next patch will be a big update, they don't want to do it in bits and pieces, so it'll be done when it's done, which could be forever.

The expansion might just be out before the new update

Well Barbs are OP. I like playing them but the fact that I could do a higher MP with my barb with very average gear versus medium to good gear on my monk... well that tells the story.

1) Botting
2) Get an uber lucky drop and flip it
3) Buy gold with real money

I refuse to buy gold as I think that will kill this game for me. I must say I am starting to think that I will mainly play Hardcore as there is no real money AH, and thus makes the game a lot more enjoyable.

How do people expect to get paid R50mil for a house? Same thing really, there are people out there that through sheer effort (time spent), luck (sell an epic drop) or gaming the system (bots) have lots of gold. Just because you or me dont have that much moola doesnt mean its not possible

Yeah I have the perma WotB Barb.

That aside though. I'm losing interest in this game fast. I haven't been on in a few days and when I do go on it's to "play" the auction house. I can fill up my inventory with ilvl63 yellows in 15 minutes, but not once have I kept or AHed a single item after hitting level 60.

I've probably picked up about 15 - 20 legendaries, and I've brimmed probably 17 of those, the rest I sold unidentified because rolling a 800k dps EF with thorns and +200 int gets tiring.

They really need to fix the itemization and it would be really nice to be able to "farm" bosses again.

D2 was rewarding in that I knew if I killed Baal I'd get something worthwhile, maybe not the best unique or set item, but a unique or set nonetheless

Agreed. The purely random nature actually serves as a disincentive. Items just roll with too many random kark affixes.

And dammit, we need better legendaries - I mean, one decent legendary set of gloves - really

In my opinion Diablo 2 itemization have been way more mature than D3's itemization. Why did they not build on that instead of just using the names of the items....
Having legendaries with fixed scales for roles.
Runes and runewords, that was the best about D2 that I just miss in this game...
Upgrading gear
But I guess we need to face reality this game was intended for the console from the start, and the PC version was used to generate some extra money for Blizzard by introducing huge variability in items that would sell for lots of $$$ etc.
