Suarez was immense, Gerrard ran the show. Shelvey looks tidy after a terrific pre-season. Spearing was crud as always (when he came on at the end.)

Also really good to see Borini score on his debut. He reminds me as a combination of Kuyt and Maxi. Has Kuyts workrate and Maxi's touch. Great player.

Should be seeing Allen completing his move to Anfield today.

And 3 from 9 :D Carroll looking to impress as well.

EDIT: So the pre-season went P6, W3, L1, D2... Goals for 9, goals against 4. Good performances from Borini and the kids are looking good as well... Gerrard and Suarez starting to combine nicely... Carroll working hard... Allen in a red shirt... Hmmm, All in all, I can't wait for next Saturday... Just hope we hold on to Agger.

Quality not quantity.


Has anybody noticed any difference in ' Brendon's style of play ' ?

Seems pretty much that 'Pools best 11 will be similar to last season, bar the inclusion of Borini instead of Carroll.

Players do seem a lot more fitter this time around with fewer injury worries.




/ any bets on Stevie getting injured against Italy next week ?

Don't think he was called up. Only some of the young guys I think. Stevie and johnson wasn't called.

I could be wrong though

Wonder WTF there are international friendlies whilst most European league competition are about to kick in !!!

Top performance by the team today - Sterling's goal was excellent, really hopes he gets a good run in the 1st team.

Stevie wasn't called up for Eng duty so that's a relief :)

Cannot wait for the season to start!

Bid for Dempsey accepted apparently. Fee <10m. Adam staying (for now). Could be announced by the end of the week.
