It's relevant to BR. The fact that you're League leaders mean you are the form team. For some reason you're looking at this from Chelsea's perspective when I was commenting on BR's actions from his own (and LFC's) stance.

And stop being a drama queen :p I said 'fair amount', not 'HUGE'.

I can see what you're saying, but the criticism I'm picking up is the fact that he put out that weakened team at all, not that he's suddenly being a hypocrite after last season's crowing.

1. Yeah, we are the form team but it doesn't mean we're unbeatable. The last few games showed that if you take the game to Chelsea, you can end up with a point at least - we're not invincible.

2. It's because of all the **** he said in the previous two seasons. **** him.

EDIT: I said HUGE because I was talking to you and we're 13 points ahead of you at this early stage of the season. No relevance to the discussion, just thought I'd mention it. :D

Exactly. And to take the game to the form team, isn't it best to have a properly fit and rested squad?

:D :D Why are Chelsea supporters so prone to animosity when it comes to Rodgers?

Look, generally it's Liverpool as a whole. However, my personal distaste for Liverpool stems from the bastard supporters from my high school days who would give me endless **** when I started supporting Chelsea. Bear in mind, I'm talking 1997-2001 - not after Roman bought the club. Have hated Liverpool & their supporters with a passion ever since. The internet has only proved that they are all the bloody same. they behave in the same way whether they are 15 year olds in SA in the pre-social network era or now.

The only decent chap who supports Liverpool that I have met (online or offline) is that redmania or whatever his name was a few years ago. He was decent.

Fair enough. We have some fair-minded ones here though. At times.

The only time I thought I thought of switching clubs in 30+ years was when glen hoddle became manager of Chelsea. Lucky I didn't as I would be a real d00s right now

It's a bit of both, really. Putting out a weakened team in the CL, to prioritise a league game, when your qualification is not yet secure, is wrong. Trying to spin it like some marvelous tactical plan is equally disingenuous. His entire reasoning contradicts itself.

Interesting as I find many of the LFC supporters here to be fair minded....I could name a few...

Being a fan of a club doesn't make you a d00s. Being a d00s makes you a d00s.

I guess it depends on where he thinks his priorities lie.

Fair minded to a point. How many times have we seen Suarez being defended here?

Evra still gets some choice words from some posters on here.

I agree he should not be making it sound like it was a tactical plan. Cause it wasn't. He was resting players for the Chelsea clash. Period. Having said that, I still don't see what was so wrong with what he did. Some may agree, some may not. At the end of the day, he is the manager....

I've defended Suarez (his football, not his actions which I did make clear was wrong) and I don't like Evra (not cause of the Suarez thing, more because I just think he is an idiot in general). I don't think I am an ass to anyone here though...

Agreed that he is the manager and that he will live or die or be judged by results. Right now, LFC are struggling and the players that have been playing week in and week out have not been performing. Not only this, we have been shocking and what's been most disappointing is the apparent lack of hunger or desire from the players. We dont press the opposition, we dont work off the ball or seem to have a level of intensity about our play. So what do you do, you drop them. Call it resting or player management or whatever, they were dropped.

The team that played last night appeared to have more of those qualities. It was tough watching us chasing shadows for big parts of the match but I was most impressed by how we stuck at it and kept going and some players would have done themselves no harm based on that performance.
Onward and upwards.

Why would you have to defend his football? It's his actions which are contentious.

And it's weird how LFC fans only started disliking Evra after the Suarez incident but of course it has nothing to do with that incident :p

I can honestly say I disliked him after the World Cup incident with France. As I matter of fact, I rated him as the best LB in the world at one point.

That's the scary thing, the way the team was closing down, passing and defending yesterday was much much better than our starting 11. I really don't know what is happening where that is concerned.

@AfricanTech where are you dude?
