Being a fan of a club doesn't make you a d00s. Being a d00s makes you a d00s.
Was in direct response to the poster who slagged us 'poolers off with a singular and generalised swipe.

That's the scary thing, the way the team was closing down, passing and defending yesterday was much much better than our starting 11. I really don't know what is happening where that is concerned.
@AfricanTech where are you dude?

Welp, it's a good thing you didn't. Now you can enjoy your team where they belong![]()
Better then having a Russian so far up your arse that......actually it is pointless trying to attempt to have a reasonable discussion with youWelp, it's a good thing you didn't. Now you can enjoy your team where they belong![]()

"I hate Liverpool and their supporters" is not a statement that has any amount of reasonable about itWhy? I'm very reasonable! Having a sugar daddy is awesome. It's not like the Americans have been doing a much better job of running a football club than a Russian and the Arabs.

Was offsite this morning.
@F1 and curbs, I agree with you guys - not playing the 'first team' would have been a salutary lesson to them.
I can respect Ian Ladyman's emotional viewpoint, however, the reality is that our first team needed a bloody good kick in the arse - they've been playing as if their positions are untouchable - the reality is that they needed to see that the people who played last night can hold their own and they'd better pull up their socks. With all BR's nonsense when speaking about what other teams should have achieved given what they spent or 'coaching defense' is easy, people forget that he has been a pretty good 'man manager' who brought out the best in Suarez (amongst others).
Fully support what he did last night and he may have inadvertently discovered the seed of a defensive combination that works. He also showed that he can be a hardnosed pragmatist when it is needed. (something we consistently criticised him for towards the end of last season)
After the shocking run we've had, he simply had to do something different - as Einstein said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
@smokey - yeah, I think you need to readjust your lenses - except for a specific individual, 'pool supporters here on MyBB don't deserve that broad brush that you're waving around.
I for one do not respond to the trolls any longer in the hope that they will simply get bored and wander off.
I guess it depends on where he thinks his priorities lie.
I agree he should not be making it sound like it was a tactical plan. Cause it wasn't. He was resting players for the Chelsea clash. Period. Having said that, I still don't see what was so wrong with what he did. Some may agree, some may not. At the end of the day, he is the manager....
And he's back
The big question now is....who to start against Chelsea?
I was very impressed with Markovic by the way. Not the finished product, but definitely has it in him..
Which is fair, but begs the question of whether effectively conceding defeat in the Champions League to focus on qualifying for the Champions League makes sense.

wot's this - no youtube here
I reckon that if we had started with our 'usual team and plan', Real would have thumped us.......again.
We played them at home, with huge crowd support and passion and it worked.........for the first 20 minutes. Then the bubble popped and 600 vs 180 in match xp + poor tactics, weak execution, horrendous defense, (I can add more but damn, I can only do so much self flagellation) resulted in 3 down by halftime and Real effectively making a mockery of us on the field in the 2nd half.
If that had happened last night I would have been gutted.
With respect to conceding defeat, our fate is in our hands - if we beat Basel and Ludo (and there is no reason for Real not to beat them - Real are busy setting an all time record in the CL) then we may well challenge in the next round.
And ja, recognising that we do not have the squad (at this point) to win the CL is not being defeatist - it's called being a realist.
Last season, we aimed for the #4 spot in the League and got to #2, so who knows...
Edit: To answer your question, of course it does - live to fight another day (another season) - if we don't make at least 4th no CL next year - no CL next year meansfans and reduced funds.
Honestly, I applaud his decision to change things up. Liverpool need it. But, his comments made no sense as to why.
Liverpool do, by and large, have their destiny in their own hands regarding qualification. But it does also rely on Real beating your opponents, too. Still risky.
I get that he needs to prioritise remaining within the reaches of a CL spot over current CL ambitions- but that's why this weekend's result is important.
