There is something amiss, I agree.

No, but he needs to consider that perhaps the type of training he has Sturridge doing as part of his recovery is inadequate. It's the second time now that he has broken down during his recovery period.

He already has Sturridge on a program that includes more rest than the rest of the squad. I guess Sturridge just shouldn't train and should only play matches.

Or train differently. It is odd, though, last season he was basically injury-free.

Studge has had a poor record in terms of injuries and I guess it should come as no surprise that he breaks down so often, or breaks down during the recovery process, its one of those things. Problem is that in a season where we badly need him, we can ill afford this kind of thing. I rememember times during his first season and a bit when I though Lucas was rubbish, but did he ever get injured, no sir. Then, when he became the boss of the midfield, he picks up a major knee injury after having dominated Ya ya and then been outstanding against chelsea.

These things happen but with Studge it probably reflects more our over reliance on him because of the poor season we have had thus far due to various reasons, players lacking confidence, poor form or just not settling in quickly enough. I doubt he will play against Palace or against Ludogrets but I will say this, at some point it may be that he either has to learn to play with niggles and play thru it or the club will have to make a decision about his long term future with the club.

Lets see how Brendan farks up this weekend, he's got plenty of excuses on hand.
