So funny though to see fans whose team are not in the CL poking fun at teams who at least competed (if that's what you can call what we did this year :( ) in the CL.

Ah well, onward and upward as they say.

So I guess these players haven't written themselves into folklore just yet.

If folklore = Brothers Grimm, then yes, they have

Dang though, that spot kick from Stevie was a beauty - :D - pity we see so few of those from him nowadays.

Well we are out of it again and probably won't be back in it for quite a while. The football we are playing at the moment is garbage.

Utd is going to smash us on Sunday.

Can't be bothered to go check. But I remember Liverpool fans doing the same last year.
It happens, it's normal banter, nothing funny about it.
The funny thing is, there is this guy in a whatsapp group I'm in who supports Liverpool. I swear if I didn't know better I'd think he was KOPITE.
He was all in on the United demise last year. Saying "Bayern is going to rape United" etc.
This year an observation is made by a united supported, during the Real game and his first words are "United aren't in the champions league."

He is a particularly unpleasant Liverpool supporter. I get along with most, but I take pleasure when they lose just so that this one guy can shut up. There is always that one guy!

Probably for the best for Liverpool. Even at the end of last season, it was evident that CL football would be a stretch too far for the squad. Rodgers has done his best Rafa impression in buying a load of ill-fitting players.

I think that the likes of Liverpool and Spurs need to seriously look at using the Europa League as a platform to step up. It has worked well for teams like Porto, Atletico and Shakhtar.

I agree. They should accept mediocrity until someone comes along and offers them false hope again

I agree.

The on-field evidence is clear and what really irritates me is that everyone besides BR can see it.

We've been saying it since the end of last season and throughout this one so far - except for brief 15-20 spurts, we don't look like we're playing to any kind of plan

It's painful actually....

They might not, but if they do, it will be deserved smashing based on the footy we've played so far this season.

No, that's not what I meant.

I said it a while ago- that Liverpool being a season ahead in their targets had a huge chance of being damaging, simply because a number of areas requiring development were bypassed. Suarez or not, it was too big a transition to make, and it's impacting the club across all competitions.

They massively overachieved, and there's nothing wrong with that- but the impact has been huge, because Liverpool went into the season with higher expectations and a required level to be raised, while still not really possessing adequate depth and experience in both personnel or coaching.

Ok....so last night was a disaster....

But....why do we play so dam well in the second half and so badly in the first? It has happened a few times. The reason Marko was brought was for his pace, you could see that. And quite honestly, he looked brilliant for those few mins. I am so irritated at a number of players in that squad. Lovren is off form, Skrtel should honestly not be in the team, and Johnson doesn't deserve to be there. Migs is a problem as well, you can see the team has no faith in his kicking ability.

I don't know...
