LFC played like they tried hard not to win the game. Side ways and back passing ad nauseum; ended up flicked the channel to watch athletics more than the game. Charlie Adam was so kuk it's not funny anymore, more than a couple of times Reina was furiously yelling at him to stop making mistakes and to close down...was almost wishing Pepe would rip his head off... Dunno why young Morgan wasn't brought on at least 10-15 mins earlier for that fat bastard...

Borini played 90 mins as the central striker without doing much...wonder if he will start of Sunday then. Surprised to not see Carroll get a run-out in this game...is he not even in BR's second string plans or could he be upfront against City then perhaps??

We had a second string team on the field. Sterling, Robinson, Spearing, Adam all started. Downing came on and played at LB.

1-0 is an ok result I think. Under previous managers we probably would've lost the game.

The fact that Spearing was on the field with Adam probably compounded the issue. Once Allen came on we looked much much much better.

no we didn't look better. he just passes sideways and back. anonymous. cant believe the attitude of these guys. surely they want to get into the first team. if i was rodgers i would have a long transfer list this morning. shocking really. we are going to struggle. again.

spearing - cant believe he hasn't been sold
adam - aaaargh
borini - had 3 good chances, couldn't take any of them; for the goal he bloody missed the cross unmarked and the ball hit the defender and into the net;we need another striker, he is a forward apparently, whatever that means
shelvey - bit of a stinker; although he had some decent passes to borini;
linesman - even worse game than adam - flagged borini offside twice or thrice when he was clean through
robinson - had a good game overall
hendo - okay game but he looks better than last season but needs to play in the center to show it - not enjoying the wing;

stand out player was sterling; wanted the ball; went past players;crosses; potential; hope he gets at least a chance in the league. carroll got a knock in training so wasn't "risked"

it was painfull to watch at times. the reserves would have put in a better display i reckon.

Spearing - going to Bolton
Adam - could be on his way out but he is refusing to leave
Borini - will come good, still very young
Shelvey - had a stinker of a game, but he is better than that.
Hendo - really good at CM, needs to play there more.

Sterling was amazing:

From a Hearts fans point of view, there seems a real uncertainty among Liverpool players. They were pretty directionless and seriously needed someone to grab the midfield by the scruff of the neck and control the game. It was quite a disjointed performance overall but that was to be expected I suppose with so many changes and a lot of senior players missing. But a Gerrard and a Suarez slotted into that team and it was easily 3-0 to Liverpool.

Disappointing to lose to an own goal after a decent(ish) performance by Hearts, but we looked unlikely to score for most of the game while thankfully Borini seemed desperate to keep the score at 0-0. So really, it was a fair result.

2-0 to Hearts next week it has to be then ;)

1 up and still pressing for another. That's something I haven't seen from a Liverpool side in years.
