Brilliant 3 points.

They tried to bully us like they did Arsenal, should have had more yellows and how Barkley escaped being sent off only the ref knows. That was a really bad tackle and he hope he is cited afterwards.

I love the fact the Sturridge made that goal happen.
Can't be cited as referee saw the tackle and took action in the pitch...

Three points. Took their onslaught. Then controlled the game. Clean sheet. 62% possession away from home. Not bad. But we got disrupted again. They were successful with that. And then our passing went to the dogs. No wonder klopp went mental.

The irony is we keep saying to get rid of Studge, but then things like that happen where he just makes the difference on the day to get the points. We really don't realise how certain players have a role to play when things get really tough.

I think Can was off the pace and JK should have kept Lallana on for the last few minutes. I hope Couts is not far off as we really miss his majestic passes, skill and awesome goals.

We?

Not me, ever. Sturridge is class and a game changer. I don't care if we use him as a luxury player, he's got the magic.

Can was off the pace, but Lallana was really tiring.

Origi did not have great game either.

Mores the pity. Every time I see that tackle it looks worse.

Fishy posted this in the United thread.

hmmm just saw the origin of the term ManUre:

The term “ManUre” originated from chants about Duncan Edwards by West Brom fans following the Munich Air Disaster. “Duncan Edwards is manure, rotting in his grave, Man U are manure, rotting in their grave.”

It's disgusting in the same way that people who sing 'always the victim' is.

Hillsborough, Munich, Heysel - innocent people died.

After a rather dodgy first few minutes Klavan had Lukaku in his pocket. Which is encouraging.

Mores the pity. Every time I see that tackle it looks worse.

To be fair slow motion replays also make incidents seem worse by giving the impression the perp had more time to think through his actions. Still a horrific tackle deserving of a red.

I've never really given a thought about the origin of that word... after reading the post it is really disturbing how people would sing songs like that after a major accident...

Wayde meets his Liverpool heroes

Golden boy Wayde van Niekerk has made another dream come true – meeting the players and coach of his favourite soccer team, Liverpool.

Olympic 400m champion and world record-holder Van Niekerk has spent the last week or so in Merseyside, accompanied by his girlfriend Chesney Campbell, to enjoy some downtime during the festive season and catch a few football games as well.

Van Niekerk was present at Goodison Park on Monday night when Senegal star Sadio Mané scored a stoppage-time winner over Everton in a 1-0 victory – his first live Liverpool game – and he will attend the Boxing Day clash against Stoke at Anfield as well.

But the real thrill came on Friday morning, when he watched the Reds practice at their Melwood training base and spoke to manager Jurgen Klopp and some of the players such as Philippe Coutinho, JordanHenderson, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge, according to the Goal.com website.

But the German boss was just as excited to chat with the 24-year-old sprinter. “I can’t believe you saw the Arsenal game (the 4-3 victory to kick off the season) before you ran!” Klopp was reported as saying.

“I hope it gave you a little bit of inspiration.”

Klopp added that his love for athletics was such that he could’ve had a career in that sport instead of football. But Van Niekerk said: “Well, as a fan, I’m glad you decided to stick with football.”

So cool. One of my mates sat next to him at the Everton game.

Completely normal, down to earth guy.

Seasons Greetings everyone
