Too much analysis here.
What is missing?
Suarez duh.
World class centre forward on form.
Corners. Free kicks and penalties. Attacking the box. Creating (not feigning) fouls in the opposition's half.
From December until before the Southampton/Besiktas games we were taking more than 20 shots per game or so. Drew Arsenal and won against Swansea, Westham, Tottenham, Southampton, City when they were above us in the table.
Played Blackburn then Swansea and look poor, few chances created and then 2 dire games. Still no in form centre forward. Lack of corners, fouls, free kicks. Failing to see managers big shortcoming in this slump that requires so much of analysis.
Suarez is a big miss, yes, but let's not forget that Liverpool lost the title last season because their defence was not up to scratch. The first half of this season, it was exacerbated by Sturridge's injury leaving Liverpool shorn of a quality finisher.
The shortcomings of the manager here have been obvious, particularly in the games against Liverpool and United- his style of play works against teams that do not have the quality to match the play. United and Arsenal did, which is why they were able to soak up any pressure and punish Liverpool's weaknesses.
Also, confidence is something hugely important to Liverpool, more so than other teams, IMO. Without confidence, they look absolutely lost. They have not developed that mean streak needed to simply get your head down and grind and battle for a result. This is something that even Arsenal have found, and it comes from both experience and coaching to enforce that mentality.
