Hendo's game has come on leaps and bounds this season, he's developed into a top midfielder.

Thing is though that we look okay (well minus dodgy Lovren and sleepy Johnson who between the two of them made our defence look wibbly wobbly again) against teams below us - it's the teams above us that we haven't worked out - or rather, they've worked us out.

Teams below us can't cope with the extra pace that we inject - teams above us know how to shut down that pace and then we are in trouble.

Oh, and of course not having a striker who can actually score goals regularly is somewhat of a liability too...it's one of the major differences between ourselves and MUFC - even when they were playing poorly, and they were, they still scored goals. Arsenal of course have both Giroud and Sanchez who banging them in with abandon - we haven't has anyone doing that this season - no one - Sterling has scored 7 and probably missed two or three times that in sitters and four or five (multiplicative) harder chances.

In many ways, given our injuries and poor buys this season, it's quite amazing that we're still in with a (theoretical) chance for 4th.

undoubtedly, our lack of goal threat from our strikers has been a major issue for us this season. Quite simply, when available, Sturridge, Ballotelli, Lambert and Borini have done diddly squat.

it would be unfair to blame injuries as every team has them but we've never quite had a solid 11 this season. I mean, how many games has the following missed due to injury?

Sturridge
Gerrard
Lallana
Ballotelli
Lucas
Allen
Sakho
Lovern
Ibe
Borini
Luis Enrique ( Yes, he's still at the club!)
Johnson

Now I'm not saying all of them are certain starters but injuries have been a bitch this year.

anyway, on the whole, injuries included, we've been poor against the big boys.

He wasn't on the ball in the first half...which is an unfair report. He worked damn hard off the ball, his running drawing defenders and making space elsewhere. Something else we miss, spaces opening up with intelligent running.
