Seeing we haven't actually signed Ings yet. Still need to pay Burnley the tribunal fee and that hasn't even been agreed yet.

My understanding, and this may completely incorrect, is that if we don't agree a fee with Burnley, a fee will be set by the tribunal. Spurs offered them 12million but player wanted LFC. They are suggesting that we should be paying 10mill because of the spurs offer.
Ings was a free agent and still playing u21 level, cant see the tribunal setting fee much higher than 5/6million.

Hhhmmm... Should rather have gone for Benteke. Much better. But thanks! That leaves a possibility for Man United to get him.

Benteke costs like 3-6 times more (depending on the tribunal fee) and doesn't fit the way Rodgers likes to play. Also has been quite injury prone lately. Not saying he isn't a good player, just saying he wouldn't be right for Liverpool.

Also he would probably rather move to London/Manchester, recently we've never signed anyone that was top top class - we just can't attract them (except for MAYBE Torres).

I just read a tweet whereby Hyppia has expressed an interest in joining the coaching setup. my god, I would love to the big finn back at the club! Also, a defensive minded person who can help our defence!!!

Rogers doesnt know what to do with big lumps (unlike van Gaal who managed to extract full value out of Fellaini)

Pako also shown interest and to be honest I'd prefer Pako. Love Sami and maybe both can come in but Pako has more experience. Even kept his house in Liverpool, same as Rafa.

Pako as asst. manager whilst Hyppia as first team coach would be perfect.

Muelensteen has criticized BR publicly so it would be awkward for him to get the job :erm:

Who hasn't... LOL!! BR needs to be able to work with people that are able to get the best out of players, I don't like Rene but he was a key factor in the backroom staff at united and they didn't do too badly during his time there.

As I've said before, Pako would be best. I think he would improve our defense.

While I like Hyppia, I would prefer seasoned staff members.

BR could do with someone inside his team who is prepared to kick his bum... :D

Grey hairs on your team are important to keep you honest.

By the names being thrown around it seems it might not all be BR's choice (rightly so). But how would this affect backroom harmony when more experienced and knowledgeable assistants disagree with the man who considers himself his own mentor?

He has often spoken of becoming a better manager and learning from his experiences and his mistakes. He can also learn from other, more experienced people around him. FSG have stripped his power base and if things don't work out, he knows where the blame will rest. So he can either accept the help that he will receive or not, and deal with the consequences.
