50 million pounds for Sterling is ridiculous, i don't think anyone should go anywhere near him for that amount. I also don't think any other club will offer more than what City is offering.

I think he wants to go to London and would prefer the Gooners or Ch€l$€a. Don't matter who he goes to as long as we can milk any club who would pay up to £40m. If city does not want to pay up, then fak off.

He can't shoot, finish or even put a ball into the box.

City are retarded. Fleece them for as much as they're dumb enough to pay.

Agreed. Don't know why people are complaining. If someone is willing to pay a crazy amount, then so be it. Not our prob.

Falcoa played for United for 1 season, spent 20m in the process. That just how it works.

Where did you get 20m for Falcao? Loan cost 4m plus wages. Actual wage costs are just guesses but even the highest guess wouldn't take you to 20m. Not to mention, Falcao was one of the biggest merchandise sellers in the league, so the club defiantly factored in that when it came to the costs.

Since wages aren't revealed its all just guesses. However if one needs to involve wages in the discussion, then we will have to assume Sterling is going to cost Man City about £100m (if Liverpool gets the £50m)

Just from the rumours I have heard.

Not sure how accurate it is. Also, Im only counting wages cause you paid to have the player for one season, therefore included in cost. No resale value. Anyway I don't want this to turn into a Falcoa debate as I don't really care what Man Utd does with their money.

My point is, when you look at other players like Carrol(35m), Fellaini (27m), Bony (28m), Downing (20m) all players that did not exactly prove themselves any better that what Sterling has, then his asking price is not that crazy.

I personally would never sanction that amount for such a young unproven player. But if there is a club that is willing, then why not.

I just realized Luke Shaw was signed for 28m.....and yet we are complaining about Sterlings asking price.

Again, it goes back to what you, as the buying club, is hoping to get from the purchase. In both cases, Shaw and Sterling, they represent long term investment and the buying clubs hope that with time they will perform for years to come. Whether I think its right or wrong or even prudent is not important, but the bigger clubs have the money to spend and can afford to make mistakes (big costly ones). Liverpool cannot afford to do the same.

16m in wages

250k (assumption) by 52 weeks (assuming they get paid for 52 weeks) is 13mil plus his 4mill to Monaco is not 16m in wages...

So assuming that he gets paid for 52 weeks of the year and assuming his wages at 250k means he'd only earn 13m plus other loyalties

Aint worth 50M. What are you smoking over there at anfield?

:D

Not sure why you're laughing tbh, unless you think that's what we value him at as opposed to what we should sell him for to another Premier Club who:

a. has tons of money
b. is a competitor for Top 4 place
c. needs English players on their books

In terms of 'value', at this point (and discounting future potential), given that he has been independently labelled as the best U21 English Player at this point, he is probably worth between 25-35m - however, when you factor in the above three points, we should sell him at a moerse premium or otherwise keep him and utilise his talents for ourselves.

There you go

I see what you're saying.

Looks like we've moved on from Benteke, I just hope that BR has as well.
Bacca and Rondo being considered amongst others.
Loads of talk about Firmino as well, I am really hopeful of this deal happening but will see I guess.
Clyne Saints still holding out for 15million.

Benteke not worth the money. Firmino, I don't know. Never seen a good Brazilian striker perform consistently in the premier league.

Lots of rumours around Illara. I like him alot, just don't know when he will play.

Is Clyne that good? I would much rather try Ilori/Manq/flanno at RB than buy to be honest.

We seriously need to clear out players.
