BREAKING: LIVERPOOL AGREE FIRMINO DEAL

Sky sources understand that Liverpool have agreed a deal with Hoffenheim for forward Roberto Firmino.

The Anfield side have been looking to strengthen their attacking options and it looks the 23-year-old Brazilian international could be on his way.

Formerly with Figueirense, Firmino can play anywhere across the front three, and is currently on Copa America duty with Brazil.

I really hope we paid under 20m and not more.

What happens to Balo and Lambert now?

Apparently 29m - I'm excited - closest to Suarez since, well, Suarez :)

Ballo needed to be shifted irrespective.

Lambert will find a home.

I'm looking forward to that fast, exciting stuff we played in 13/14 as opposed to the dross of most of 14/15

Glad we got him before the mancs. I can't wait to see the great partnership between Coutinho and Firmino

Sign Bacca and Illermandhedi (sp?) and I'll be ****ing excited about the new season.

:D

At least we can look forward to some fast, flowing footy again - none of that turgid stuff from the last season.

Welcome Roberto....hope you become a firm fan favorite at Anfield! Now the manager and the TC just need to round this off with the right central striker signing and sort out the attack at least for next season...

Interestingly, Firmino was a main target for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga... the same Dortmund managed by Jurgen Klopp at the time; the same Klopp heavily linked with LFC recently. It is also somewhat curious that Firmino decided to sign so quickly for LFC with currently a no-name manager in european terms and no UCL next season, while there were other major clubs interested who could offer that and probably match or better the wages too... Unless there are certain assurances in his deal or he got a call from someone who monitored him closely in Germany... Like i said, very interesting; let me puff my pipe some more... ;)
