I think the international break is what you make of it. I.E Man U will use the menatlity that this break will allow them to recoup, while (i hope this wont be the case) Liverpool will use the mentality that the break will make us lose momentum.

Traditionally though for us it has always been a bad thing. My main fear is Torres picking up an injury :(

I hope he doesn't. I really, really hope he gets a hattrick on his first game back from the competition, United falters and Chelsea make up more ground on United. Then at the end of the game, Torres and Gerrard both get season ending injuries, United have Ronaldo and VDS sent off and Chelsea steamroll into first place eventually.

Wow... I just had a day dream! :p

Hi pool fans

Trying to do my bit to add some serious footy talk and cut out some banter so here goes:

Any of you guys wanna share your opinions on the timing of the International break regarding Liverpool's good run (i.e. do you think it might have a negative or positive impact )

No break is good if you team is in amazing form.
I think it's a mentality thing. Why is a break good when your in bad form byt bad when your in good form?

@dBeck
I'm quite fine with the break. As long as nobody picks up injuries I dont think it will ruin the great run of form we're in now.
It's all about coming back with the right mentality.

Good managers always use it to their advantage. regroup, research, revive! Mentality wise, it only counts against certain players who aren't tough enough.

Yep you right with the mentality statement. Going back to HL question, I guess teams in bad form want a time-out to regroup and those in good form just dont wanna stop (Kinda like boxing-the fighter getting the shots in wants to keep going to force a KO but the one getting beat up wants the bell to ring so he get to cover up the cuts and come back stronger-making it harder to force a KO now then when it was just before the bell rang).....just a thought:)

RAFA: WE WILL NOT BE SIGNING SILVA

Speculation has been growing that the 23-year-old Spaniard is Benitez's top target at the end of the season, but the manager today insisted Silva will not be Anfield bound.

"We will not be signing him," was Benitez's reply when asked at Melwood earlier today.

Despite ruling an approach for Silva out of his summer plans, the boss insisted work is gathering pace behind the scenes to identify targets ahead of next season.

"We are working hard, talking with the scouting department and looking at names and options for next season," he added.

"It's still too soon, but we are working hard."

While beginning to formulate his plans for the new campaign, Benitez is well aware of what could still lie ahead this term - and of the sense of excitement among Liverpool supporters after the gap at the top of the table was closed to just one point.

"Football can change very quickly and that is why we say it is important to just take one game at a time," he added.

"Everything can change each week and maybe next week we can be at the top again. My message to the fans is to keep calm. I can see the people have a lot of confidence at the moment and that is good. We have to stay positive and see what happens."

Thought so

Mosaic for Ray.

The Ray of Hope Appeal hope the campaign that you've all supported, and helped raise vital money for Ray, will culminate in a public display of our respect for Ray's great career at both Arsenal and Liverpool.

To that end, a mosiac prior to the evening game with Arsenal is planned. It will have a red Kop with a simple, white '5' on it. The away enclosure will be yellow with a blue '10'.

Both clubs and both sets of fans are supporting this, as they did during the entire duration of the campaign.

We'll (RAOTL) need volunteers the morning/lunchtime of the 21st April to help set this up, so stay tuned for details.

In all Ray played 212 times for Arsenal scoring over 70 goals, and 393 times for Liverpool again scoring over 70 goals.

During his playing career Ray helped Liverpool & Arsenal between them win 6 League titles,5 European trophies, 1 FA cup and 1 League cup. He also played 17 times for England scoring 3 goals.

Ray after retiring has spent most of his time, highlighting and raising funds for research and treatments for Parkinson's Disease. And to this day Ray leads a quiet life, increasing housebound as he relies heavily on drugs to control his condition.

A tragic legacy of his condition is the fact he's had to sell all his football memorabilia including medals to help fund treatment of his disease. I hope you agree that Ray Kennedy was a true football legend.
