Good performance today. Blackburn were really very poor though. Brilliant goals by Torres and Agger.
What I love about this result though is that it gives the team a moral boost ahead of Tuesday's match and the fact that Gerrard and Torres managed o get a bit of a rest.

Aggers goal was almost a replica of his goal of the season against West Ham two seasons ago :)

Always difficult to accept defeat but I must say I'm proud of every last Liverpool player. Really fought hard for the win.

Kudos to Chelsea. They really pushed us to the limit.

All i will say is On this day 15 april 2009 (ironically a sad day in Liverpools history ) I am proud to be a red ,the boys played with heart and soul known to be the liverpool way ,we never gave up and this I attribute to RAFA ,when ever he signs a player you always hear him say that the player has a good mentallity and strong charachter ,and this is why you never write liverpool off as Chelsea rightfully nearly pissed their pants last night :D Good luck to them in the next round :)

Well done to Rafa and the boys they made me proud to be a red last night

Why did Rafa take Mascherano off last night?

Also why did he play Lucas?

I thought Chelsea were very poor last night. I hope they play like that again in the semis.

Not sure why Lucas makes the starting 11 - he is in my opinion not ready for that position - still needs to grow alot as a player

Dont' think Barca will struggle much with chelsea - they are playing the best football currently in Europe.

Lucas played because Gerrard wasn't available. Would've made more sense playing Benayoun in the hole but thats a debate for another day!

In terms of the match ... AWESOME, AWESOME fighting spirit from the boys. The reason why I feel that Liverpool will push United for every point in the last 6 games of the season.

The title challenge materialised this season!

Now for the Yanks to put their money where their mouths are and pull a rabbit out of the hat in terms of quality signings in the summer. Liverpool are truly a few signings short of breaking the Premiership duck ... I CAN FEEL IT.

My heart goes out to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster. The commeration was 15 April. Saw some news reports and footage on DSTV earlier. A great atmosphere!

JUSTICE FOR THE '96 - YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE - IN RAFA WE TRUST - COME ON REDS ...

Nice piece of news on Goal.com... Arsenal and Chelsea will hold a memorial service for the victims of the Hillsborough Disaster. Both captains will be giving a speech and some of the family have been invited to the stadium for the service.

Top draw from the teams and the FA. You'll never walk alone!

Thats a really nice gesture from them.

I was reading some of the letters from family members who lost their loved ones at Hillsborough and it's heartbreaking.

Found a nice document abouth the Hillsborough Disaster. Worth a read, even if your not a Pool fan

I have my own view on this but I think it's best left unsaid as I don't want to offend anyone.

edit: Ok, I'll say it in a nice manner. I don't mind them acknowledging the event with a minutes silence and a black armband but a memorial service as mentioned above. It has absolutely nothing to do with them. Some might not agree with me but that's just how I feel.

Surely they wont hold a memorial service though?
That would just be weird because they have no connection to the people who lost their lives at Hillsborough. I was under the impression it would only be a minute of silence.

According to smokey's post, it would seem to be a short service, captians speaking and some of the victims families will be there. Don't know how true it is.

A minutes silence is all that's required.

It just wouldn't be right. I didn't read the article on goal.com so I just assumed it would be a moment of silence type thing. I mean seriously how old was Cesc Fabregas when this even happened?
Just wouldn't be right. Like you said a moment of silence will do.
