We are okay-ish upfront with the return of the Voronator and Ngog also showed some promise last season. Think Peter Crouch whould be a brilliant signing, but looks like he's on his way to Sunderland now.

i think reyes would be a good addition he had flashes of brilliance with arsenal this is only if liverpool don't wana spend big and he is spanish maybe he will beter under bentiez because it seems to me pool does not want to buy any high profile players unless sum 1 like xabi or mascherano has to leave. like they are holding bck with the money. and i hope ngog can give us another option but im not to impressed with voronin . glad we got johnson but we need another high profile player striker or winger sneider or robben if xabi decides 2 leave i like silva 2 or another top striker of midfileder.

crouch back to liverpool.... is he serious?? that is just plain stoopid!! i would much rather see 10mil spent on a really promising youngster than buying a player we already got rid of once before...

He's strategy is better than AF and he definately spends less than AFI think he's got alzheimer's...

Crouch back ... nope not the answer. Sounds like Spurs are negotiating a deal in any case for his services.
Personally, I feel that Babel and Voronin must share the load and get into double figures (10+) while Torres remains the main striker.
Benayoun and Kuyt also had a good return at the back end of last season, so they plus Gerrard must be the goal scorers this season.
Economics means the Rafa simply cannot go out and spend big cash on a forward. The main strikers in the market at the moment wouldn't want to play second fiddle to the Torres/Gerrard combination in any case ...

so.. alonso is gone and now he wants to get an Aquillani as a replacement. I dont think that he should even have considered trying to sell alonso but if i was xabi i would also have asked to leave after being offered to a whole host of clubs repeatedly.
I just hope that the promising youngsters in the team get a chance to prove themselves in the league to get some good experience so that they can contribute and not be sold off like all the other promising youngsters that have been there under rafa..

What promising youngsters has Rafa booted? Not being snarky... just curious...
None that I can recall. The most promising ones are still at the club. Of the ones that have been sold I think only Stephen Warnock and Danny Guthrie have made the grade in the EPL. And to be fair neither of them have actually gone on to make a name for themselves.
So sad to see Xabi leaving.
Cant believe he will be playing for the 'Galacticos', but YNWA Xabi
Now we need to find a replacement fast. Aquilani seems like the most likely target but Juventus' Poulsen has also been mentioned. Alternatively Lucas could step up to the plate and make the position his own.
