Special mention has to go out to Lucas, I thought he was superb last night, won everything in the midfield last night. When Aquilani starts to feature, you have to think that Lucas will put pressure on Mascherano's position.

There is something about this lad that tells me he has more in his wardrobe.

Ive been saying it for a long time Poolmania this kid is special you dont become the youngest Brazilian footballer of the year at age 18 for nothing

Lucas also became the youngest player to ever to receive Placar magazine's Bola de Ouro (Golden Ball), given to the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro — an honour previously won by the likes of Zico, Falcão, Careca, Alex, Fowi, Romario, ***á and Tevez.[3]

I expect Big things from Lucas ;)

on a side note ,How was that bit of Skill from Superman that created the 3rd goal ...absolutely freakin awesome ,I see the english newspapers are raving about that turn :D

And rightly so. If that was Berbatov we would not have heard the end of it!

Lucas looks to have a spring in his step this season. Looks a lot more confident and willing to try things. He knows that he has to play out of his skin before Aquilani is fit.
The best thing for me about last night was Glen Johnson. The runs he makes are amazing, he's like a winger almost in the way he surges forward and his crosses are top class.

I was also very impressed with young Insua last night, think this kid has a very bright future ahead of him.

Last night goals :)

Bad performance last night from the Boys. I think is some sick twisted way this bad start to the season may be just what we needed to get our acts together

I think Lucas is on Sir Alex's payroll. In friendly matches he is brilliant, as soon as he starts in a league fixture he is f##cking terrible.

He was okay against Spurs and Stoke. I fear that he's just not that top quality kind of player. I remember how Xabi was at his age(22) when he joined us from Sociedad and it's a massive, massive difference.
He has potential though, just like Babel.

Ola, newbie here!

Liverpool's performance was bad last night. Why does Rafa persist on playing two holding midfielders at home?

Lucas is suposed to be a 'box-to-box' central midfielder, kinda like a young Steven Gerrard.

Oh and welcome to the forum:)

Thx!

Problem is. Lucas isnt good enough. Rafa's negative tactics is going to cost him his job this season.

Word. I loved that way 'Pool played in the latter half of last season, banging in goals from everywhere and playing attractive football while doing it. The only reason Benitez played such attacking football was because he had no choice, he had to catch United (after that horrible run in January). Now in the opening two weeks, he's suffered to losses, the same amount he had in the whole previous season.

I think we are playing better than we were in the beginning of last season. The only difference is that we had a bit of luck and results went our way (Sundeland, Aston Villa and Middlesborough). This time it hasn't gone our way. It's just one of those things. Yes people will be saying that we have lost the same amount of games as the whole of last season but we also had 11 draws last season.

Man United lost 4 games last season and won it by 4 points. There is still hope.

Our defense just seems a bit weaker during the last few games. We are allowing the forwards space and can't get a grip with set pieces which has accounted to 4 of the 5 goals scored against us.

Like I said, I still think we are playing better football compared to the first 6 games last season.

We can only get better so let's hope we get it right at Bolton. Burnley and West Ham to follow. We need 9 points from those games to build momentum.

ya well you can blame rafa for that... playing both Skirttle (fractured cheek) and Carragher (look at that badange on his head...)

Rafa is crazy to risk his central defence... let the youngster Asomething mah jiggy play ;D

He was barely average against Stoke... Stoke were ****e. I think he's got zero BMT. It's season number two and he still hasn't stepped up.
