I used to do almost anything to watch LFC play. But if the players don't give a hoot whether we win or not, then my time can be better spent doing something else. Don't pull that Shankly quote on me either about if you can't support us when lose, then you can't support us when we win. I love this club, but its gut wrenching to watch them play so poorly and with no desire. Something needs to change.

Players that just aren't good enough.

Adam is a donkey, whenever we try and counterattack and gets the ball it takes so long for him to get it under control and pass it, the other team would already have all 11 players back to defend. He can't seem to shoot either, his dead ball delivery is woeful. He can't tackle, can't kick with his right foot, doesn't have much pace. What can he do?

League cup win gets them into Europa , so players don't bother how far off the top they are.

That's a bad attitude to have though, not too long ago 4th was still achievable. Getting into the CL puts you back up with Europe's elite and brings inn more revenue than the FA cup and Carling cup combined. Sure on the one hand you have silverware, on the other hand it's small club mentality to be satisfied with that.

If the players don't care about league position they end up in because they have qualified for Europa, something is very wrong at the club. Pride for one should motivate them, your league position also determines revenue from the league.
I would feel ashamed if winning the Carling cup was my ticket to Europe. I would at least strive to qualify via the table.
Sure for teams like Birmingham it's an achievement to just be in Europe, but I would have thought Liverpool have more ambition.
Now I am aware that what you said is just the way you see things and not fact, but if that's the impression given to the fans it is indeed sad.
It's more exciting when pool are p pushing united to the end like in 09.
This is becoming like the whole Torres situation, funny at first, but afterwards it just gets real sad!

How times have changed, if I'm correct. Fergie didn't have the greatest few season at Utd and he turned them around. After 1 season people want the King to go. Guess FOOTBALL = NO PATIENCE and FAITH nowadays
