I think he is on the same page as us with Fermino being average and that Tevez or Vodal choosing Pool over us would be mind boggling

I dont think he was saying that he believed Fermino was in the league of Tevez or Vidal or that he thought Pool was capable of signing those type of players - correct wolverine_dcp?

Except they will essentially have Firmino plus money which can go to an out and out striker, so on paper its a decent transfer for Liverpool.

Sterling and a good striker is dangerous - like we saw with Suarez

Fermino and a 20 odd mil striker - I dunno yet...guess decent is the word especially if your goal is to make top 10

I have to say Liverpool is getting their business done quite well so far. Not setting the world alight with the names but getting Firmino and especially Milner so early is sending the right message from their point of view

29m for Firmino is pretty heavy... and Pool fans laugh at Depay's price tag...

A good player but i cant see him coming to United.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan wants a move to the Premier League this summer and has three offers from top English clubs, according to his agent.

"His intention is to leave Spain this summer," Bulut told Spanish sports newspaper AS. "His will is to leave and to play in the Premier League, that is the path he would like to take to continue his career."

I can see him going to City with Pelligrini. Maybe a replacement for Milner

Yeah perhaps instead of Sterling if they cant find a price for him.

99 percent of players linked to us is only due to agents talking up prices, with us not even in contact with them at all.

Us going through this transition phase isnt helping as everyone knows we need players as well.
Is this not the same tactic DDGs agent possibly used to get better contract for his player at OT (by saying he was linked with Real) , esp since he is nearing end of contract? I would think there is a good chance then if he was not satisfied with new contract, he would stay out existing contract at OT.

No i don't think so, it seems pretty clear to me that DDG wants to go back home and its not about the money.

Not so sure about that. I'm not aware of the player actually saying anything along those lines and being quoted.
I'm aware it's still early in the window, but this story appears to be getting more quiet, from the very clear assertions that DDG would be unveiled by RM by now.
His agent, Jorge Mendez, appears to have his clients regularly linked with transfers when new deals need to be negotiated with their existing clubs...

I suspect hes keeping quiet so he doesn't alienate the United fans if he has to play one more season. I think its probably realistic to accept that he wont be a United player if not this season then the next.

Sergio Ramos tells Real Madrid he wants to leave as Manchester United await

The Manchester United target Sergio Ramos has told Real Madrid that he wants to leave.

The defender held a meeting with Madrid’s chief executive José Ángel Sánchez at Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground on Wednesday morning at which he confirmed his intention to depart and was told that the club would listen to offers.

Although Madrid did not provide the standard response, which is to demand that any interested clubs meet the €180m (£128m) buyout clause, they are expected set the bar prohibitively high – initially at least.

Neither Ramos nor Real Madrid have made any public statement of intent but privately their positions are now clear. Neither side backed down on Wednesday morning.

Madrid have made no move towards reconciliation or a renewed offer for Ramos to extend his contract, which currently expires in 2017, and nor did Ramos say that he was prepared to reopen negotiations.

The 29-year-old central defender has been at Real Madrid for 10 seasons since joining from Sevilla for €27m when he was still a teenager. He has played more than 400 games for Madrid and is their vice-captain.

Madrid’s willingness to entertain offers does represent some movement, and suggests that in truth they would not mind selling if the conditions were right, while the relationship between player and president Florentino Pérez makes peace improbable.

But a swift resolution is not expected and the outcome remains uncertain. Despite Manchester United informing them of their interest in Ramos and reports in Spain of them making a bid, Madrid are still briefing that they have had no offers for the central defender.

However, Madrid want the United goalkeeper David de Gea and have already had an initial bid believed to be in the region of €18m turned down, so it is not impossible for a deal to be worked out.

The difference is he has a contract offer from us that would make him the highest paid keeper in the world. If he only did it for a better contract i think he wouldve signed the offer by now.
