I'm referring to him personally, not the club as RM. Don't think he is that good and his age is getting on. You have enough decent defenders that need play time to be honestly.
I see what you're saying ... he is no Glen Johnson, that's for sure.
RM and SPain have been carrying him through 2xEuro Champs, 1x WC, 1xCL, 3xLa Liga, 1xSpanish Cup etc ...
not to mention 3xLa Liga best defender ...He is a poser, and you saw right though him giving the eyeblind to RM, spain and the world!
Kopite, nothing gets passed you.
Personally I don't think his that great defending but he can score some goals which helps
His a loose cannon, look at the goals he shipped a the 2014 WC and for RM... I guess he would be more like a Vidic kind of player. Hopefully Rojo and Smalling will learn a few things from him.Seems like United is now the new RM 2.0.... or I should say 0.5...

I reckon he is. He has experience, He is a World Cup winner and has played a big part in a big team like Madrid. HE is also good in the attacking third

I see Smalling as extremely good at covering space and backtracking. So with Ramos I can see them making a great team defensively as Ramos is stronger with ball at his feet and being the hard man in defense.

We need.someone whose going to take charge when the ball comes into the box...that still bugs me about our centrebacks. Vidic was slow but man, did he own the ball in the air.

Don't see United being linked to any keepers. Strange with all the DDG to RM rumours going around and especially with the media linking you guys with almost everybody. Very weird, seems like almost a no brainer to link United with atleast a few keepers if your making stuff up about their keeper leaving.

I dont see that happening and to be honest i've been very happy with Smalling these last few months.
Lloris and Cillessen, also rumours that Valdez would be the new first choice. Also what do you mean about making stuff up?

I was just thinking that if the DDG deal was such a fore gone conclusion as certain reports make it out to be, that there would be more reports of United being linked with a replacement. Which makes me think that he might stay.
Look 90% of all transfer rumours are BS, so you need to filter through it to somehow see what the real story is. I just reckon that if DDG was leaving we would be seeing more reports of United being linked to a replacement.
Maybe is just my perception of United not being linked to replacements since you guys don't bring that up in this thread that often.
I obviously would be delighted he if leaves and United replace him with Rob Green.

I don't think its a full gone conclusion that he leaves this season but i do think its a full gone conclusion that he wont sign a new contract. So i think if he doesn't go now, he will go for free next season. Of course anything can happen in this transfer market and i would be delighted if i was wrong and he signed a new contract.
