He did ok in the first season for Milan, things started going downhill when they sold all their best players.

I guess that's true. He did have Milan playing some pretty good footie in the CL, too. Don't blame Conte for leaving though. He didn't have much competition in Serie A.

So best of luck to Allegri, then.

He also said that Vidal is happy at Juve, you guys seem to forget that it is also his choice to.

On Monday Arturo Vidal said he would "love to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world" offering a hint that he might be moving to Manchester United.

"I am already at a great team like Juventus," he told Chilean TV station Chilevision. "That’s why it will not be a problem if the chance to join Manchester United falls through."

Juventus just don't want to look like a selling club.

Offer them the right price, they'll sell Vidal.

Manchester United to up offer for Vermaelen

16 Jul 2014 12:00:00

The Old Trafford club made a £6 million offer for the centre-back but were knocked back by the Gunners, who have stalled the sale of the defender while they line up a replacement.

Manchester United are set to increase their offer for Arsenal centre-back Thomas Vermaelen, Goal understands.

United have held talks with Arsenal over the signing of the 28-year-old this summer, but saw enquiries regarding a £6 million bid knocked back by the Gunners.

The Old Trafford side are now hoping to convince Arsenal to part ways with Vermaelen with an improved offer closer to £10m, but are reluctant to negotiate further for the defender.

With Louis van Gaal now in charge, United are confident of persuading Vermaelen to make the move to Old Trafford should a bid be accepted.

Vermaelen is understood to be keen to find a new club after falling behind Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker in the pecking order at Arsenal.

But Arsene Wenger has stalled the sale of the Belgium centre-back while he lines up a replacement for the Gunners.

Vermaelen himself indicated his future at Arsenal is uncertain following Belgium’s elimination from the World Cup.

"I really do not know where I will play, Arsenal or elsewhere next season," he said.

"All my attention went to the World Cup. I will see when I talk with Arsenal."

wow:

skysport said:
There are plenty of interesting stories in today’s newspapers, with plenty of focus on Louis van Gaal as he prepares for his first press conference as Manchester United manager later today. There are reports that he is ready for a major clear-out at Old Trafford and has already drawn up a list of the players he intends to release. Those thought to be heading for the exit include Wilfried Zaha, Javier Hernandez, Anderson, Nani, Tom Cleverley, Chris Smalling and Bebe.

The players in bold can all leave.

Didn't bold Evra as he's as good as sold to Juventus already. I'd give Zaha a chance, especially under LvG. I'd give Nani one more season (I've been saying that for years now sigh) and Nick Powell did really well on loan at Wigan so I'd give him a chance as well.
