The Legend remains
I'm glad actually as long as he is happy with a lesser role. I don't like it when club "legends" are forced out. Still think it's criminal that Raul and Iker were not allowed to retire at Madrid.

Totally agree..and maybe we have one last burst of the Rooney magic..he is still young enough, not like he is over the hill

He'll stay as long as the club wants him then he'll retire, that is my opinion.

He's a family man, so I can't see him jetting off to China or the US and if he did have to move to another English club, on present performances, it would be down the table which would not be befitting of his legacy.

I was one that said his future lay in midfield, but in hindsight I think asking him to play deeper came too earlier in his career and helped take the shine off of him over the past few seasons. Such a pity United could not find a Scholes.

if he wants that big pay check - however with his current performances I highly doubt any Chinese club would want him... (Cannavaro already said)

Rooney may not be good enough to start every week in the premiership but of course he's good enough for any Chinese team. Also they would sign him just for his name alone, having big names are all they care about at the moment.

Last 16 games will be played on Thursday March 9 and 16.

There are no seedings in the draw which means anyone can face anyone. Teams from the same country can meet although United are the only English side left after Tottenham's defeat last night.

So Rostov. Long way to travel before the FA Cup game against Chelsea. Pretty bad draw.

Could have been better, and worse.

Lyon got Roma. So one of them are out.

And BMGladbach got the other german team.

Rostov are also not that strong of the teams that remain.

And we have the extra day till Monday when we play Chelsea.

We playing away first and then home match after... not sure if that's a good or bad thing

Rostov is dangerous. Only lost at home once since May 2015 or something like that (not sure if only in CL). Only lost to Athletico Madrid (0-1) and also beat Bayern.

Added to this is the fact that they play their first league game after their winter break in early March, so they will be fresh. Also heard that it is going to be freezing when Utd play there. On the other hand, they are only 7th in their league. Could Utd be the underdogs here? Bottom line is that even though they are the lowest ranked of the team left in the draw, they are going to be tough.
