Interesting mailbox on F365 with one mail suggesting Herrera is better than Kante (in that role). Loads of people responding no etc but statistically he IS playing better than Kante

Your guys' thoughts?

Personally i am a huge fan of the spaniard
I love Herera he also chips in with a cheeky foul now and then and seems to get under opposition skin. He has so much passion for the club, he definitely should be in the running as next captain.

The cheeky foul every now and then is what riles most rival fans lol. Kante definitely runs more but i love watching Ander's positional sense and passing.

I don't like these comparisons. Sure they play in similar positions but those positions can be so diverse with regards to different playing styles.

Herrera is great at what he does. He obviously has a good football brain, his positioning, movement and passing are great. I think Kante beats him on the physicality aspect... If Herrera could hit the gym more often it would add to his game and would make him a more commanding midfielder.

I think thats true - different players bring a different style

I prefer Kante in the DCM role - the midfield is the engine and that guy has an engine that runs all day

He def needs more gym and I'd like him to contribute more to the goals and assists, but awesome player nonetheless.

True about different playing styles especially to the managers' orders and what he wants you to do as well as the players you play alongside

Would be a good move for all parties. But can they afford his wages??

Not his United wages, no way. Lukaku's current deal is 90k per week, and he is their highest earner. Baines and Ashley Williams, key 30-somethings, are on 70 and 75k respectively. Barry is on 60k. Any new deal for Lukaku will probably stretch their budget to the max.

If he moved it would have to be, as the Yanks call, at a hometown discount, somewhere between Barry and Baines/Williams.

Maybe he will decide closer to the end of the season or even later when we start buying players and he considers where his place will be..

Feel like a Liverpool supporter since I haven't posted in a while :D

Happy with the way the team is playing, looking forward to this month's fixtures. Not the hugest Mourinho fan, but happy with the turn around he's brought over LvG!!! Even when we not playing well, it still looks a whole lot better than under LvG

Yes and like the old days for at least the last ten years some people didn't like the manager while he was managing. Saying that he is too old in his thinking. Etc. Now everyone was always a fergie die hard.

Love this comment :D

Michael Carrick said:
I don't think you take it for granted so much, but our strength was that we expected it to happen. We weren't hoping, we were expecting. That's not being blasé, that's just the standards we have. Some clubs would chase fourth, but our standards, our drive, was such that we had to win. We had the tools in place to do it, but the mentality was 'all or nothing' and that was the case
