What is this "over paid" business? We're not a chicken tikka corner shop.

The cost of a player, or item, is relative to your income. Affordability and concepts like "over paid" only really works when you're acting in an environment of financial constraints. We might have gotten short term better value.

You say elsewhere about Ronaldo. Well, that was a few years ago. A different player in a different time, in a different context. That's like saying Roy Keane was a steal, or Rooney even. And then when compared to the bargains that were Giggs or Scholes then it is a huge amount. But hugeness is relative.

I just don't understand why we're entertaining anyone with a BRFC in their name. They play one game against us in 5 years and suddenly we're peers.

Context is this; Keane was a British transfer record signing at the time and Rooney was the most expensive under-20 in world football.

If you spend 100 million on a midfielder he should be stamping his mark on games, not increasingly becoming a passenger. Its almost as if he is regressing, just there to fill a starting spot as the season wears on.

Our multi trophy winning manager would like to differ:

Jose Mourinho says Paul Pogba was the 'best player on the pitch' in Chelsea win over Man Utd

But Keane wsnt a trophy winning signing until we bought Catona

And Rooney came into the strongest team in England and maybe Europe..and even then he only had his best seasons later on with buys like Ronaldo and Tevez

Actually ... the context is we won trophies with them.

With Pogba, he has been back here for 9 months .. and we have won a trophy. My point is just that it is too early to judge the player's impact, but as I said before, everyone attracts criticism. Even the most successful British football manager at all time got criticised for his out of date thinking and methods.

Keane is a good example. GBP 3.75m for him was british transfer record which kinda shows that you can pay more for a 22/23 year old prospect than a 27/28 year old proven player. Also, the difference was that Keane came into a premier league winning team, Pogba is coming into a team still finding themselves after 3 years without a title.

Keane came into a team that was 5? or so years in the making. He came into a premier league team where Schmeichel, Bruce, Irwin, Pallister and Parker were in defence, Giggs, Ince, Cantona were settled in the midfield and Mark Hughes and Brian Mcclair were up front. Keane came into a settled team and could excel and he imposed himself. Loved the guy, 12 year united playing career, but I would argue it is much easier to impose yourself in Keane's context than Pogba's.

I can understand a good manager taking the heat off of their star players, but if we look at what really happened in that midfield;

Kante had more passes, had a better passing accuracy, made four key passes to Pogba's zero, and also bettered Pogba in duel success, tackles won and lost the ball fewer times.

Actually ... the context is we won trophies with them.

As the superstar signing in a team that is under construction, Pogba should be standing up and taking centre stage, but he isn't. Not that anyone but Zlatan is really doing that, but the simple fact is they have not purchased a developing player. They've purchased a star, a player with 44 international caps and a Champions League regular and it is perfectly understandable that fans such as myself expect something and not anonymity.

Keane may have not had a glitzy career prior to his arrival, but he was part of a Forest side that had made two trips to Wembley ('91 FA Cup final and '92 League Cup final), was named in the 1992/93 PFA Team of the Year and was hot property in England. As for his first season, with all those stars around him, he was a huge success, instantly becoming first choice.

In a direct comparison, Pogba is the more established player with more experience on the big stage. Keane was but 4 seasons removed from plowing away as a semi-pro in the Irish league and he established himself off the bat in his debut season with United. Pogba fades in to the background all too often.

Has everyone forgotten how many games we've been playing? We've been playing a game every 3/4 days? Pogba is tired. I don't even remember if he has ever not played for us this season. The entire Chelsea team is substantially more rested than us. Let's see what Chelsea do next season with all the games they will have to play.

Wtf is this schit? FA think its April fools day?
Honestly pathetic decision by the FA. They seem to forget teams like Chelsea always surround the ref and shout at him. If our team gets charged, then Costa should be charged after each of his games.

Always seems that the FA backs the leaders of the EPL. Always too scared to take them on. We've benefited from that in the past.

What about Conte going ape on the sideline every game including last night. Oh I forgot when it's not Mou it's just "passion for the game"

Listen, I'm all for cleaning up the sport and getting the players and managers to respect the officials, etc but then the powers in charge need to be fair and tough on all teams. Barca is the worst in the world at the moment.

Barca are the worst, their admittedly brilliant play has covered up simulation and referee interference for years.

All these other supporters think we get all the decisions and so forth (especially in the Fergie days) .thats coz they wont admit that we ruled inspite of this ****. Their teams needed the help just to keep up...now the FA is sensing a comeback and they do their best to try and keep things level...****'se
