The only reason why he was relieved is the fact that he knows his been giving 65% effort in those 3 matches - last night he looked a hell lot sharper with his control and movement - bar the high ball - he was not tested.

I think part of this is that the passing and movement from the midfield looked a lot sharper last night.

It looked like Rooney and Memphis had done a lot of training together this week because they were linking up very well.

Entire front 4 so to speak looked a lot more in sync. Makes sense that it would take a few games to get used to each others movements. Counter attacking looked superb, only the finishing that was a bit off.

Says something that the finishing was off and we still cracked a 4-0 (while missing a penalty).

Problem is that the lower league teams are not going to play like Brugge. They need goals which meant we could carve them up. A lot of teams we play will be hoping for a scoreless draw or to nick one against us and close up shop.

Agree with you there. Premier League is going to be tight. Teams are playing a lot more defensively. Sunday's game will be interesting, Swansea are a decent side and have given us lots of hassles in the past.

Given the 3 games we have already played in EPL, the acid test will be this weekend. Think it will give us a better indication of where the season is heading

I think Swansea will be the first real true test of our defense and goal keeper, which up to this point hasn't really been tested.

I have been pretty more upbeat about Romero, and less worried about De Gea after the last few games. He has had a great series of games to get more in touch with his defenders etc, and actually looks a fantastic stopper. He can kick a ball far as well.
So if RM don't get De Gea in the next few days, would it be fair on Romero if DG goes straight into the team?

Have to agree, Sunday will be a good indicator. If De Gea stays, i'd make him fight for place in the starting line-up.

Wouldn't be fair on Romero to just drop him to the bench because De Gea is staying.

Only thing I worry about with Romero is his dwelling on the ball when it's passed to him...think he's spent too much time with Tyler Blackett

Glass half empty, much?

If Rooney had mucked up again against Brugge I'd have been concerned. But he didn't. He looked sharper, moved better and provided outlets for the attacking midfielders. All well and good having excellent build up play, but it goes for naught if a guy with two left feet and blind in one eye is the outlet. Regardless of opposition, he played a damn sight better than he did in the previous 4 games and the signs were there in the Newcastle game.

Calm down, class is permanent. All I said.

Depends I suppose, Romero knew when he signed DDG will be first choice if he stayed. That being said I hope big Dave gets the normal LVG 2 weeks training with the team again before putting him back into the team if he stays after the window.
