Not so much anything about the team but the short turnaround between seasons kinda dampens the excitement. Straight from end of season into friendlies and now the season's started...the usual 3 months to build anticipation went missing this year.

Nah, the transfer frustrations more than make up for it. I am quite happy with a quick turnaround time.

you got your 3 months from the 12th of March to the 19th of June ... the fact that we managed to get 3rd place was quite a rush .... so yes, looking forward to it ... although, judging by the start made .. pool, chelsea, arsenal .. i think this year will be ultra competitive. Feel we're a bit short on players .. problem during the run in was that players ran out of legs .. so the concern is the lack of depth .. all we have is donny and some young-uns coming in so far....

On the plus side we don't have to worry about the pressure caused by trying to protect our home ground unbeaten record this season.

Lads looked off the pace for the most part.

Well that was ****. No defence, no attack. Midfield passing to opposition
Very bad indeed.

For me, it goes deeper than that we just need to buy some guys.

How can the guys who played last night play so poorly? Pogba looked terrible (again). Like he just didn't care. Worrying times. Brighton next. Need to make a statement there.

Pogba might have an excuse because he just had covid and couldn't train. But the rest...

Do you reckon Donny will play a bigger role and start games after coming on and actually doing something constructive? Asking for a friend's fantasy football team...

Pretty open game tonight. Wouldn't be surprised if Luton scores.

Needed to give the youngsters a run to get them match fit, you know Matic, Mata, Lingard, Ighalo.

Was an open game, Luton could have scored but for a great stop from Henderson. I like what I'm seeing.

We've got two backup left backs in Williams and shaw. Still no obvious first choice.

Van der Beek needed more quality around him, or at least a better understanding.

Mata was class but same problem as vdb. Matic and Fred is too slow for this high press teams.

I prefer bailly to lindelof. More direct tackler but worse passer.

Bailly also erratic like Lindelof... Honestly we need to sell Jones, Smalling and bring in Ruban Dias of Benfica
For the RW we should seriously look at Federico Chiesa instead of knocking on the doors of Sancho

Our defence and midfield was so poor... it's like we completely forgot how to play football

Then again watching Juve and Bayern we actually did pretty well :p

Someone needs to explain this to me, despite the glaring issues in defence, why are we STILL pursuing this??

Cause DVB said no and we the mighty Manchester United and no one says no to us so we'll just throw humungous money in your direction till you cave in?

https://www.skysports.com/football/...iteds-91-3m-bid-rejected-by-borussia-dortmund

I agree with you, why are we pursuing this?

Its like Trump is in charge of our transfers. They love us, they're looking forward to dealing with us, and we'll get a good price from them, the best price. Jadon called us personally to beg us to fetch him, he'll put through a request. He'll even lower his salary demand. This is practically a done deal.

Deal falls through.

We were never really in for him. We just said that because we wanted to lift the spirit of the fans.

I would like a defender to come in, and maybe a right sided attacker, but if they don't they don't. Just wish monday rolls round and this madness can end.

Wondering if the United game will be on SuperSport tonight as the schedule just shows "Carabao Cup '20: Match 5". There are 2 (maybe 3 - City start at 8) games that start about that time.
