So do you want to lose tonight to get Olé fired or still going for the win?

Prioritising UCL over EPL I see...

In the end, it was enough for the win. The assists from Rashford was awesome - timing and weight of the passes for Bruno then AWB.

Bruno only human hey. Guess he will score his next 10 penalties.

Even the disallowed goal. Showed good invention. Was a good comeback result but Newcastle is the type of team we can play well against and score goals against.

They commit players forward so are always in danger of being light at the back.

How so? Only players that didn't play was Pogba - who has been kak, Matic and Greenwood not like Martial could play nor Cavani - OGS easing Tella into the team it seems

Team news for tomorrow (from SuperSport):
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Cavani as well as captain Harry Maguire, Mason Greenwood, Eric Bailly and Jesse Lingard have missed the trip to the French capital for Tuesday's opening group stage match.

Solskjaer confirmed Cavani still needs to work on his fitness levels, while Maguire has sustained a minor knock.

In Maguire's absence, United playmaker Bruno Fernandes will captain the side for the first time, which he discovered while sitting alongside his manager for the news conference.

I haven't been as satisfied about an overall performance and result since last season. Tactically set up well and relatively efficient up front. Good game for De Gea. Easy to see and complain when a team isn't playing with intensity. But loads on show tonight.

PSG despite being good enough for the CL final last season are just about spending 400m on forwards and 40m on the rest of the team and it shows. For where we are in our development, that was a good performance.

Immense performance by the lads, real good team performance.

Can't deny that we deserved something from that game.

Not getting ahead of myself, still taking each game as it comes but I'll take this result against the CL finalists tonight.

Mega result, especially considering the fact that they were battered 6-1 only two games ago.

I really like Bailly, but I fully agree with you, it's time.
He was always good for a red card as well. But I'd take that over the bag of mistakes that's Jones and Lindo. How Jones has lasted so many years at United still baffles me. The next Steve Bruce they said... Sigh...

People are getting a bit carried away with last night. United played well. But that was a substantially weakened PSG.

The "clean" sheet with Tuanzebe, Lindelof and Shaw in the middle of defence was the most impressive part for me. Wan-Bissaka was excellent.

Looking forward to Tuanzebe getting more game time - he looked better than Maguire has in recent weeks.

We've always got a chance of scoring against teams that play ball - it's our defence that I worry about most.

And last time we beat them with 10 players injured. The majority of fans I've spoken to were not getting carried away.

For where we are, that was a good performance against a team with supremely talented forwards. They had chances but DDG was on form, and it felt like all players showed intensity (that should be the minimum requirement for a MUFC team), understood their tactical roles, and were able to switch to new roles when the change of formation and substitutions came. Ole's weakness is the tactical side, but this performance was on point, maybe it wasn't a great mystery on how to play given the way PSG plays, but it worked last night.

Yes, Maguire has been undroppable all of last season, and so maybe there's a sense of tiredness or complacency or both creeping into his game. The fact that we're winning and being decent at the back without him can only be good for us.

I think they'll probably go three at the back against Chelsea, Leipzig and Arsenal too. But what a run of matches we have.

PSG, Chelsea, Leipzig, Arsenal. The kind of run that is either going to embed Ole or bring out the OleOut crowd in force.

I'd be very happy taking 6 points into the double header with Istanbul Baseksehir.
