So 9pts vs PSG on 6 and RBL on 6... need 1 point against these two teams to secure passage but then again not sure which would be better qualify top of the group and end up meeting one of the following teams:
Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Ajax Amsterdam/Atalanta, Sevilla FC, Lazio, RM/Inter/Shaktar...

Second we end up against: Barca, Bayern, Borussia Dortmund and or RM/Shaktar/Borussia Monchengladbach

Don't lets get ahead of ourselves, could quite easily end third and we'd be up against

Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester Roma, Napoli, Milan. PSV, Lyon

First half really good but that second half, man...a better team would have taken advantage of how we took our foot off the gas.

Bruno's price tag just keeps going in one direction.

He's our MVP easy this season .. second half was a bit wasteful esp greenwood, and rashford and even martial .. it seems like this was a good outing to get rid of some rust, and still be miles ahead of this team. Still resent that we're not on 12 as of today ..

DVDB seems to have had a good game too. Nice to have the win for the week under our belt and it is only Wednesday.

And the subs made it worse

Cavani was playing so so well, but getting no support or service .... good potential chances were massacred by Rashford, Martial, Greenwoodx3 that I can remember .. If any of those fell to Bruno you feel he could have played Cavani in for any of those for a goal.

Maybe they were being wasteful because of rustiness/the break/ being 3-0 up, but we should have bagged at least another 2 easy goals, that would just have settled the nerves a bit.

That could have been another frustrating day but we've got a proper striker now who can finish those chances we've been missing. Hell, we should have been up at the break even with Soton's goals.

Pretty great performance and I feel we would have walked this if Cavani had played the 90.

Yes, cavani had two good games on the bounce. Maybe fitness is improving so he can start against his former team.

Although with our poor form at home against a PSG team will be quite a challenge. Hope we are not aiming for a draw because we know how that goes.

On the Southampton match, we created lots of chances. I expected more from them as they've had a good start to the season. Our form, except in relation to playing away, has been up and down, so am glad for the win. Always looked like we could get goals if we could just finish them and glad Bruno and Edi was good enough on a bad day to get us the win.

Cavani was immense, poacher, goal scorer and creator and tormented the defence, yes we should have been 3-2 up at the break but for some poor finishing and good goalkeeping to deny us. Almost seemed like one of those afternoons where the goal keeper was going to help Soton.
His movement off the ball tormented Vestergaard and Bednarek
At least we are seeing a fit and strong Cavani and not a last big retirement package Cavani. Super stoked that he is here and ready to give 120% and score tons of goals.

He should be fine going by the context and manner he used the word. He clearly wasn't meaning it in a denigrative way.

In another news - seems like we all missed it at the beginning of the month, Sir Bobby Charlton has been diagnosed with Dementia...

Dunno if this is an accurate comparison but I feel like Cavani is having a Danny Rojas moment :)

If you haven't watched Ted Lasso, highly-recommend it - very funny and there's a character modelled on Roy Keane (they even named him Roy Kent :p).

FA Cup 3rd round draw … home vs Watford … Jan 9-10. Watford are currently 3rd in Championship. Several familiar names in their squad (Welbeck, Cleverley, Ben Foster, etc.)

PS: no replays remember.
