Not sure where else to put feedback after the games so doing it here..

Nice competitive first half..definitely tested their fitness

Great interplay for the first goal and great touch from Lukaku for the second and his first

Pogba looking masterful in the middle, great skill, vision and passing ability

MickiT looking very comfortable and confident compared to his start last season - so looking forward to him in his second season

I wish Perreira would be played further upfront but seems t be used as a holding MF? Wonder if thats not a waste of his talents?

Mctominay looked very comfortable in MF - better than Carrick

watched patches of the match and yes, I don't try to read too much into these matches as it is more about fitness and trying things than winning or performances. Hopefully helps with match fitness and sharpness and the combinations gelling.

Glad Lukaku got a goal so that it doesn't become a thing.

Watching first 25 minute:

Jones failing for the first goal - but then again Mensa was MIA for tracking the defender - twice in the row both times Lindgard made 1 great saving tackle and the second one he was shrugged off while Jones was sleeping.

Lukaku had one or two good touches and a few bad ones - still trying too hard putting his boot through the ball

Pogba playing as the second CDM - stifling his attacking play

Uniteds goal - Lukaku's bad first touch (ball popping up) helped put the defender off and created the chance for the goal :D His Goal he almost mess it up lol

Jones defending not so good

Pereira was the keeper... don't think he can play any further up the pitch :p His still some way from taking the number 2 jersey from Romero

Blind was having a blinder 45 minutes

I hate loosing any match so always willing the players on..lol but yes, they seem to have gotten a good test yesterday and the next games will be even more testing leaving them nice and fit and sharp for the season opener.

I hear ya with Lukaku..its out the way and he can now hopefully just be himself and not worry about the other stuff.

Perreira as a Holding MF - what do you think?

I think the defender touched the ball up and then Lukaku controlled it and played it off no?

It's fine as long as it distracts the opponents :D

A Pereria gets nutmegged, kicks the player and then throws the ball at the player lying on the ground rofl mimicking Herrera?

Jeez how big is Scott McTominay, only 20 years old.

What was wrong with that? His first touch stopped the ball and then his next touch was quick enough to take it pass the tackling defender

Its not fine..you must take off your "bad first touch glasses" and see the good that he brings :D

Yeah Perreira was classic!...haha but still feel he should be played upfront

People making way too much about Lukakus first touch, it has not stopped him improving on his goal return every season. Andy Cole and Hernandez more recently did not have great first touches either.

You guys are right, guess it's just me, there's just something about a player and their first touch that makes you confident in their ability, then you might argue about the goals, which is what the man is there for, screw the rest.

no the build up his first bad touch took him backwards... he gave away 2 goals last season because of this bad first touch - went backwards midfield and wingers pushed up past him and the opponent nicked the ball away from him, passed it past the back 4 and goal for the other team... let me find the video...

Here he lost the match for Everton against Burnley - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7yTMGZQXEQ 00:06

The problem is if you playing as a lone striker the midfield and the attacks gotta have confidence that you going to get the ball punted up to you and you can hold it up and lay it off to the runners... otherwise there's no point pushing up if you going to keep taking the ball behind

If you look at someone like Berba with possible one of the best first touches every. I think the most goals he scored in a season is 20. Not to say that it's bad but all that matters is how many you put in the net.
