Talks about staying 15 years, if possible or true, thoughts?

With a club like United having just come off such a legacy with SAF - its definitely easier than with other clubs. If Jose is able to win titles and keep us in the running for the CL or win it, than yes. Will he get time to do it if he doesn't do it this season..I think so - which might not happen at other clubs

He is 54 so 15 years he will be 69... possible? Why not if he can show that his leading United in the right direction even if we don't win anything for a season or two we need that stability, however if he becomes a Wenger... for the next 5 years then I'd question his motivation :)

i would be in favour. for a manager to be in the job at man united for 15 years he would have to be successful consistently, so if he stays that long, we'd be successful, and i would be happy.

Especially since they must have got him at a discount.
Madrid didn't want to talk to us without us putting De gea on the table so good luck to them. I remember how we inched closer and closer and closer and inched and closer until we inched past him to lukaku.

Morata ? Bygones.

How do you reckon that they got a discount?
Madrid history with us, clearly he must be unsettled and even willing to push through a move which is not great when selling a player when it was Madrid's fault he's not at United.

Actually happy for the guy, for now , he's been looking for a club for a couple of years now.

Yep bygones although the Lukaku vs Morata narrative is going to get tiresome very quick.

Morata must still settle, although a great striker, he will need time in this league in my opinion (hopefully).

Mourinho probably feels he doesn’t possess the time, if he wants to win the league, hence going for lukaku tried and tested in EPL vs not tried and tested.

I agree with that logic. Mou has a definite plan and keeps saying he wanted 4 players and now he will settle for 3

I skeem in those 4 players he had backups. I think Lukaku was his first choice and thought Chelsea had him and went for Morata and then he was given another chance at his first choice and took it.

Morata would have thrived at United, I think Chelsea plays a style that would also suit him - Hazard and Pedro/William on either flank, this is going to be the battle of Lukaku vs Morata for a long time to come - lets hope Lukaku can put more through the back of the net.

I'm happy Morata found a team that would accommodate him - he would have thrived if he stayed at Juve - should have never gone back to RM.

RM are the villain here, they screwed him over by recalling him back too early from Juve and again they screwed him over by not letting him go when a offer was on the table.

RM also screwed DDG over by not submitting the transfer papers on time

I really hope we never buy anyone from them - would prefer if we sell our players to them at an astronomical fee

He could be the next Torres or ..... well the next Torres.

hahah .. yes, as dbecks said, brilliant.

On any signing you never know who you're going to get. Or rather which Torres you're going to get.

On Morata vs Lukaku. I think when the window opened Morata was our first choice and Lukaku was Chelseas for various reasons.

I think they're both very good, maybe Lukaku is more in the mould of what Mourinho usually works with but both are quite tall playes while Conte seems to be a bit more pragmatic in working with what he has, better. The champions league campaign is going to take quite a bit from Chelsea's PL challenge this year though. They needed a striker and they are even more over a barrel to RM than we were .. unless RM wanted to make some money off them since we weren't in play anymore.

Personally i would be happy if Morata gets 25 goals.... if lukaku gets 35.

I think Lacazette will also be added to the comparison. Which is all irrelevant once the medals have been given out. Look at Harry Kane, most goals but no trophies.

RAIOLA SNAPS UP VERATTI

Mino Raiola has just signed up a new client in the shape of PSG midfielder Marco Verratti.

The Italy international has been linked with big money move to Barcelona and Man United. The timing of the switch is sure to raise a few eyebrows.

Veratti has parted company with Donato Di Campli and joined Raiola, who has excellent links with Manchester United after helping them secure the services of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan & Sergio Romero in recent times.

interesting...

funny: shame he sounded bleak...

morata said:
"This is the best club," Morata, speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News reporter Paul Gilmour upon arrival in London, said.

"I spoke with Azpilicueta and he told me everything is OK and he found it something easy."

Watching the live stream now, Utd 2-0 up at half time against City.

Lukaku scores again, nicely taken goal from a tight angle and rashford, although I do think their 40m keeper should have done better.

Good game, nice pace, no love lost with a few yellows already.

But geez Utd look sharp.
