Damn what a finish from Lukaku

That finish means nothing to me. Nothing. It means nothing. That finish means nothing. Nothing to me.

That goal celebration though. That same blank non smiling expression, chin up, welcoming how good a finish that was for you but for me that is an everyday finish. I have seen in another United player.

United looking very sharp - you could argue that this is City's first preseason game, but thats exactly the point. We seem to have the better start and one we can take with us into the EPL. A good sharp start there means the rest must catch up. A few more competitive games coming up including a Cup final bodes well for the team spirit, fitness and sharpness - something of an advantage over the rest and I think Mou has done really well in the pre-season prep

We could really use a fast, strong left back

I like Perreira upfront - you can see how he comes alive

Lukaku - looks like he is ready to fight, no show of fear in that goal

MickhiT is just flying

Special mention to our Young-guns Lingard and Rashford - look miles ahead of the City boys

Herrera is just so good..love this guy

And Bailley is just a special defender

Got a worry, if we play both Lukaku and Rashford, who we going to play if they need a break, gets injured...

We only have Martial

Watching the match now geez 35m for that keeper... worse than Bravo

I hear ya...We could rest one of them for less crucial games and include Martial, therefore they get a rest- then play them together for the more crucial games. I would definitely start them and give them a run and then see from there though - could also swap them out if we leading as Martial is pretty good to come on

I love that they have these keepers....:crylaugh:

They look like they have just woken up though and the pre-season party has already started. The squad also looks thin after the Pep sale - so lots or work ahead for them

But I'm sure he can pass like a champ to the fullbacks.

You are right, we are a striker short. Hopefully Zlatan comes in in December/ January when the matches come thick and fast, but the only thing I can say is at 24 and 19 they should have lots of energy. With a decent off season Pog should raise the bar this season too.

Am hoping it also means Wilson will get a look in or two against lesser opposition, and you know Mou will probably play Fellaini up front with a lone striker at some stage.

Knowing Mourinho likes to play towards another team's weaknesses and strength When we play a front three it also means one of the two gets rested as in (Perisic??)Martial/Mkhi, Rashford/Lukaku, lindgard/Mata, with a midfield of pogba, herrera, pereira, carrick, fellaini.

We're good but good do with that winger/striker and CM.

After watching the United vs City match

In the first half where we had Herrera and Pogba playing at CDM - you can see the difference in Pogba in the second half - first half his attacking talents are stifled, but we have Mkhitaryan creating the chances. The second half show's you have Pogba can make defenders look stupid when Carrick was playing in CDM.

Pereria looks like he has the ability to play in the middle of the park and on the right. Maybe we don't need a Persic, but he should play higher up the pitch - not in the CDM role. :D

Jones and Bailley pairing looked solid, Lindelof and Smalling while solid, didn't look very organised - however you gotta give credit to Smalling for that long ball up to Lukaku.

Lukaku: Great goal and shots to question this City 35m keeper :) Where he lacks a good first touch he makes up with his pace, strength and goal scoring ability. First touch to take it away from the keeper and raw pace to follow up and bury the goal.

Does look more likely Mourinho will use Fellaini as an attacking aerial threat this season

Mkhitaryan - sublime pace and class to create the second goal.

Overall our team looks like we have the pace and power to break defence up - would like to see them against a Tony Pulis team (one that parks the bus)

United third kit..I really like it. Reminds me of the Old Sharp kit with the Theatre of dreams in the background

The Creator Studio platform allowed fans the opportunity to design the third kits for United and five other clubs – FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid CF, Juventus, AC Milan and Flamengo – the ultimate expression of fan creativity.

I was thinking the same thing about Perreira - he got some crosses in and can take on player..maybe we should try him on the wing

Bailley akes any partner look good. Lindelof has better ability on the ball and looks like an upgrade to what we have..just needs some time to get up to pace. I would play him with Bailley

It was Pogba's long ball to Lukaku for the goal not Smalling?

I've seen that for a while on twitter, thought it was just a fan mock-up showing "the Trinity" never knew it was going to be officially. That's a definite buy for me.

I really hate that CDM role and position. Wish we could just go back to CMs but alas. Maybe Matic still comes in and solve that position for Mourinho. Means we will have pogba a bit further up the pitch. If we do make more signings it will become a bit more like what we want, having players that can adapt and play to different match situations and formations.

Hey, it seems we're playing our away game against stoke early in the season .. and on a saturday afternoon. so no need to worry about a cold wet windy monday night away to stoke :) ...

But tony pulis is not a stupid coach though. He is doing quite well at WBA and I like his scientific and technology approach to the game. Pity he has aspirations of being a top manager. He'd made a fantastic assistant manager somewhere :)

It does look much better with the "ghosted" effect.
