That was a rather good dribbling from Martial. Looks sharp so far. Best part was that it ended up being a goal.

Only watched the highlights, martial, nice assist. The "Hof's" tackle for the Madrid pen. Easily the worst penalty shoot out I have witnessed, however take nothing away from some of those De Gea stops.

On matters defensively ..

Bailly looked good as usual. Jones had some scary moments, Smalling had some scary moments, Lindelof had a lapse of judgement.

And it looks like Rojo is going to be out until January .. sigh, that is a blow. He was so good last season.

Martial was class for the goal and wish he would do that more often in a game - just run at players

Lindelof just needs to relax and play his game, seems like he is still a pace behind but I'm sure he will catch up soon

Lindelof has had 3 laps in concentration already... if anything is to go by I htink this season we may end up with Bailley and Smalling at CB

Things to consider

- Evra, Vidic, even Pallister started shakedly and with some howlers but came good. He still has some games to go before we start the season

- I would pair him with Bailley as a way to get him settled rather than with the uncertainty in Smalling and Jones. That may be a better support when you just come in rather than playing Jones or Smalling

You could add Mkhitaryan to that he looked awful on his debut.

I believe that confidence/assurance/belief in your partner can influence your own confidence/assurance/belief in yourself. Which in turns influences your decision making and so forth
