So Mou has said the following

“I am happy with my squad but I would like to have two more players,” Jose said. “One player would be a midfield player that would give me more options and more balance to the team. Another one would be an attacking player - especially that can play through the wings to give me more attacking options.

So essentially a CDM (Matic) and Winger (Perisic) ?

well midfield could also mean CM...

It could yes

I was looking at the statement about adding balance and thinking that with CM's already in the side, a CDM is what he is eluding to in terms of balance

Great speech! Miss you Wazza - Legend!
Sad the way things ended. I did want him out but now that he's gone I'm going to miss him.

I think Harvey Dent said it best "You either die a hero or stick around long enough to become a villain"

And what about that Tevez line from Fletch

Yep, he had to leave before the fans turned on him (which was happening and which I hated and still dont get)

Fletch was really funny:crylaugh:

Some fans are funny but Wayne's biggest problem has been his own drop in standards. From what was world class to a level below.

He was held to the highest standard by those that saw and experienced the best of him - and the titles that followed, and by an even higher standard by those that didn't see his value. I still think he could have played a role - he was a legend.

He was criticised for a comment he made a few weeks back after the move when he said that it was up to him and Carrick to show the standard that is required at United and that that standard has been slipping. Many people felt that it was rich coming from a guy whose standards (on the field) had also slipped. I think he meant that standard not only on the pitch, but the standards off it. Lots of talent coming through, but the standards off the pitch, the effort and hard work, the values of the club and the players.

In a way that was all he knew as a young player, coming into Fergie's established set up, senior players around who worked harder than the new recruits. Every generation probably feels that way, that the new up and coming talent never worked as hard, had different values.

Of the current crop, who do you think maintains those high standards on the training pitch (from Fletcher's speech where he said every training ground game was a cup final)... I don't know if it is perception but for me those "hard working" guys off the match pitch these days would be ... Valencia, Young, Carrick, Herrera, De Gea, lingaard, Rashford, bailly, rojo, romero

Those model professionals would be Mata, Mkhi, Martial?, Pogba, Blind, Darmian?

Those i think could look to be trying harder .. Smalling, Jones.

I don't think in a Mourinho training anyone would be slacking, but the balance between the most talented and the most hard working isn't always found in an overlapping group. For me, Rooney had both. Where his impact wasn't the same of late was between the four white lines.

I hear you and accept that Wazza did drop by his own standards.

But he is a record holder for club and country, contributed to countless success and great moments - too slag him off was not he way to go. We could argue that he may have needed replacing and that his role would need to change or that he might have to work harder to get in the side more regularly, but some fans insulted him to a level I just cant accept.

Rashford seems like he takes his training and off prep very seriously. Valencia as well.

I dont see or get teh same vibe of improvement you got from a Ronaldo, who stayed after and just practiced more on certain things and then you saw it on the pitch (like his freekicks)

Lets leave Carrick out of any conversation that involves running or intense anything
