Aussie's still sabotaging the Scots

:D

I was so surprised he never even referred it. Looked like a stonewaller to me.
IMHO the ref favoured nz in that match.
That forward pass, and the differing lengths of time of advantage given. Our advantage lasted a couple of secs, nz advantage let them move play completely across the field

Slow it down when it shows the top down shot. No way is that a clear and obvious forward pass. Ball floating forward after being passed is not the same as a forward pass.

No, sure. Hands going backwards and all that. And that is the issue really. Because the lines on the pitch show the ball went forward whether drifting or not.

I was just surprised it never even got sent upstairs.

The ABs often got away with not rolling away after the tackle again. I'd say Macaw is the master at fooling the ref, but once or twice it was so blatant it could only be the refs error.

Guy received it in front of where it was passed from.
That's a forward pass.

Hopefully we will now get rid of HM. Even though the game as close I never got the impression that we were going to win.

Owens is refereeing the final. Good choice.

My main issue with Garces was his lack of communication in the first half. He rectified it somewhat in the 2nd, though. Owens is the best in the world on this front.

Nope.

Fair enough if the guy is running forward, Macaw was running at 45 degrees though.

Either way, I was just surprised that it wasn't referred or even mentioned by the commentators. Still looks forward to me.

Learned something today - so this is the New Zealand rules book. Where's the one that applies to the rest of the world? :p

I see there is yet another hashtag campaign soon on the brew,

#AckermanForBokCoach

Now I want to know is Ackerman really the Springbok solution? Ackerman took over, promoted to head coach, the Lions/Golden Lions in 2013 when John Mitchell packed his bags due to a mutiny according to Mitchell. Ackerman was awarded in 2014 as the top SARU coach.

I don't know Ackerman's coaching record prior the Lions/Golden Lions, iirc he started his coaching career as assistant coach at the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU).

Let’s see his record,

Currie Cup Division log:

2012 - 2nd - John Mitchell
2013 - 4th
2014 - 2nd
2015 - 1st (and Currie Cup champions)

Super Rugby Division log:

2012 - 15th - John Mitchell
2013 - 16th :p
2014 - 12th
2015 - 8th

The question, does Ackernman's record at the GLRU make him a suitable Springbok head coach or do he still need time to develop as a head coach? This also brings us back to our available options, including to keep Heyneke Meyer until 2019 and beyond… Taking on the All Blacks coaching directive approach.

As the rule is now, that pass was probably on the limit, but legit.

Still think they should go back to how it used to be long ago where it shouldn't travel forward at all, no matter what caused it, whether it is momentum or not. Will make the decisions easier and more obvious. Currently the officials need to play scientist, which is not really fair. Each one will have a different view.
