The alarm bells rang during the 2014 end of year Northern Hemiphere tour. Denialists ganged up on me instead of smellign the coffee.

You should have stopped wearing that jersey back then. ;)
I'm a supporter, through thick and thin. I've been a Lions supporter all my life. But this? I can't even...

Even JK Rowling tweeted about this.

#RSAvJPN #RugbyWorldCup You couldn't write this...

and then

Underdog refuses to take the draw, plays for the win, gets it in the final min... maybe in Quidditch, but real life?!

So how many of you started out the evening supporting the boks and ended up cheering for Japan?

Well, no, actually cheering for them...that's a step too far.

Feeling sick while at the same time admiring the Japanese for their "never say die" approach - absolutely

Ranting at the stupidity demonstrated by our team - absolutely

Well it kinda makes sense, so yeah.

And who are we kidding? Yes, Japan played well and fully deserve their victory, but it's not like we played like one of the top 3 teams in the world - clearly we aren't at the moment. If we played like we were supposed to be playing, they wouldn't have been within 20 points of us. Or do you think they'll be giving any other of the top 7 sides in the world a go anytime soon?

I don't have a glass ball to look into. This World Cup will be telling. In the case they play consistently against Scotland and Samoa then we may see them heading through in our pool. The question then, will they be able to win England/Australia. They already won Wales in Japan in 2013 (iirc). Where was Ireland 4 years ago?

Every pre-match speech by every coach in the foreseeable future will contain "Just remember what happened in the Japan vs Boks match".

Try an dcome up with a list of Lions who you think would make decent picks for the Boks.

Remember, plenty Springboks underperformed today, and they were suited to Heyneke's style of play which was useless against the Boks today.

This is what Japan did to Schalk.

I'm not that kinda Lions supporter. The lions mention was in reference to "I'm used to disappointment"

Pundit for South Africa's SuperSport: "Japan and USA are there on holiday, so we don't have to worry about them."

:erm:

No. This had nothing to do about colour. This was everything to do about playing contracted players which is past their sell by date.

There should be no such thing as a contract. You don't play well, you get dropped. End of story.

That is how it works. There are a couple of contracted Springboks not even in the squad - Jan Serfontein, JJ Engelbrecht etc.

And age doesn't have much to do with this. Japan fielded their oldest side ever, one guy is 37. :)
