Jeez... How close did that French player come to scoring there? Lovely run.

And then they score anyway.

...

The reffing on the other hand, w...t...f.. how did the TMO check the wrong bloody for the one try, and the ref on the field just goes with it? Now that is a disgrace

That has to go down as the greatest blunder - or do we just call it a farce. In the end I think that the result was a fair reflection of the game. To lose this game to the Japanese playing with such passion was amazing. Hopefully this will kick start the Boks' tournament. Just not sure they have it in them with so many relics in the squad.

If we miraculously turn this around and win the world cup, I'm sure nobody would care about this loss by that time.

Don't agree, it will be brought up regularly in future discussions. They will even point out how they lost bust still won. People will wonder what was going on.

France lost against Tonga in 2011 and went on to the final... 1 point loss against New Zealand.

Not saying we will get there but it is possible. Well after tonight anything is, hey?

We will make the quarters at least. Boks will bounce back from this. Whole international rugby community believes it, except for us South Africans.

We won't care about it any more though. Just like the French didn't care about the Tonga loss once they reached the 2011 final. Only the most negative of persons would care about it if we actually win the world cup.

Not that we will.

Japan have lost tests to Tonga, Fiji and USA this year. They ranked 14th. What we witnessed tonight was a Bok performance of farcical proportions.

New Zealand won the 2007 tri-nations didn't even feature in the semi's and got knocked out by the French in QF's of the 2007 world cup, South Africa went on to win the WC, if any thing it shows you can turn around a team in a short time.

Personally I don't see how the boks preformed badly today, they made some errors which cost them the game like kicking away possession, instead of slowing down the game to their pace, definitely not a bad performance, just because we lost "there for we played badly sentiment" is to put it nicely is bollocks !

This is turning into a good game.

Phone battery is dying on me. Going to continue watching this in peace.

Night folks.

Perhaps easier for outsiders to remain impartial and level headed not being the ones that suffered such a unexpected and shocking defeat by a complete underdog. After the dust settles and emotions wane, then perhaps South Africans will rally again. This wound is very very fresh though.

Was odd. Looked like it went even before contact was made, also before he hit the ground. Looked ouch nonetheless.
