Oh well it appears it is back to helkom for me. I have had problems with my connection for some time and just not getting any joy. On the other hand at the office our Adsl was down for … wait for it a few hrs and repaired.

I take it I must be the only one as the forums are no longer very active …. Grats all hope
It stays that way for you.

No, it's because it's working well. If it wasn't, people would be complaining like hell.

Good luck and enjoy!

You will notice that the MyWireless forums went quiet after a few months of the Sentech storm too... It went quiet after everyone just got so gatvol of complaining, that it didn't make sense to even post about it anymore...

The theory swings both ways.

I can't speak for iBurst or MyWireless, but if they are having problems they should contact Uninet.. they have it down pat, we're sharing a connection wirelessly with 4 ppl here in Bloubergstrand, and have been doing so for a long time, and everything has been perfect. 32KB/s download speeds over 90% of the time (its a 256/256 connection) and pings that make ADSL look like dialup.

How is it that one wireless provider gets it right and another not??? Bandwidth? Uninet uses IS afaik..

Last month, July, my last month shackled to WBS' iBurst, I also didn't bother complaining [much] - I'd said it all before, and ADSL was on the way...in case anyone was wondering why I was somewhat less vocal...

I was also going to say:
now I can observe WBS and their iBurst from a distance, and since I'm no longer paying WBS every month, I can perhaps be less subjective about WBS and their iBurst...:)
BUT, I have just checked my bank account, and noticed that WBS took off "-1 153,00"!!!

I wish I had not returned the modem on 1st August - at least I would have some leverage to get my money back...fraudulent bus-turds!!!

I would rather stay on iBurst thanks. With all the crap going on with Telkom, ICASA and ADSL, I'll stick with the devil I know :)

Yeah Crash, even with all the gripes I and others have, I'd still rather be with iBurst than telkom. ;)

My main gripes are still the lack of BW manager emails, lack of communication and the uncertainty of whether I will get 64k after cap or be cutoff.

This still does not mean the wbs guys should feel happy, but since they have a good product they should try harder to offer a service that matches that products quality. :p

Yep, I'm also sticking with WBS - I like the fact that I've got mobile broadband internet.

It's so cool to have nothing from Telkom in my house!

6 days out of 60. In your shoes I'd be a mouth-foaming madman by now! You should have had your signal tested before ordering Iburst. Good luck with ADSL. Hope for your sake they don't take months to deliver.

I went through a reseller, so i got it tested, full signal. Sadly that meant nothing :( Tried to get help, and the normal story. Gave an ultimatum of friday, after all the promises nothing came of it. So today i cancel. I'm too lazy to be mad, just have to take my money elsewhere. Sadly it's to hellkom, but that's what we have in this country. *dreams of faraway where bandwidth flows like gummy drops of heaven*

Tired Of threats

It is just plain b$.

I was promised on Friday I would get a phone call from a techie to help sort my problem out, still no call

It is just a totaly crap that one month my connection is great and the next it bites. I have got my ADSL modem already and just have to go through the long wait for the install.

Telkom in my case has been great at sorting out various ADSL problems we have had at the office and other clients we service.
