I've been taking fish oil supplements since 2004. Of all the dozens of supplements I have experimented with, some with obvious benefits, most without, I think fish oil is the one I have found most valuable.

Excellent.

I keep trying it myself, take for a couple of months, and then skip a month and stop again.

You know this could be the reason your skin has issues, makes your skin very oily if you take too much. When i was taking it made my skin so oily. The way i look at is get the oil from the fish that way you won't be taking too much.

If you eat well there should be no need to supplement.

I have a Omega 3 deficiency, in fact at one stage it was so bad I couldn't get out of bed and had a lot of the symptoms of a brain tumour.

I have seen quite a few anecdotes over the years of people complaining that fish oil gives them acne, along with anecdotes that fish oil makes them tired and in some cases that fish oil makes them depressed.

I don't eat fish for fear of mercury and PCB poisoning.

Well if you have an acne problem the last you want to be doing is chowing down on fish oil, flak seed oil and so on. Granted it is different for everyone but trust me take some flak seed oil you and you face will go ape shyte :D

Most of these studies are bought and paid for by the industry.
