Surely you spread out the AP's to cover the area? You need to cover where the signal would get blocked by a wall or two.

Also, I would keep the brands the same of the access points. Some APs have issues talking to other APs of a different brand.

You need to setup the other APs as repeaters to boost the signal.

Not to offend, but, how come you doing this work for them if you dont have the skills and have to keep asking on the forum?

Surely being a high commissioner he/she would be able to pay some professionals to do the setup? I would also assume, they would want that to make sure their setup is secure etc.

I was wondering this myself.

We do work for several consuls and foreign government and I can tell you that getting the necessary security clearances for the staff members who go into secure sections of consuls, consular residences and similar places is not easy.

It took close on a year from the day I got a call from the one embassy's information department until two of us were allowed into their server room. There are still some places where we can't go.

Good thing though is that once you've done decent work for one bunch they tell their buddies at embassy functions and more work follows.

Not to sure if this would work but maybe you could test it out.

Find the most central point of the house and place the ADSL there, then attach a high-gain, externally mounted omni directional antenna and walk around the house doing signal tests.
