One of the biggest Windows updates of the decade is coming

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says the company will very soon share more details about one of its biggest Windows updates of the past decade.

Speaking at Microsoft’s annual Build conference, Nadella stated the changes to the operating system will unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators.

“We will create more opportunity for every Windows developer today and welcome every creator who is looking for the most innovative, new, open platform to build and distribute and monetise applications,” Nadella said.

That sounds...unusual. Back to unsigned EXEs by random devs?

Wonder what the plan here is security wise

I'm guessing this is some sort of each app gets its own VM type plan

I read that they are finally going to make automatic monitor detection optional, so that all my windows don't rearrange themselves whenever I switch input source on my extra monitor. Been an issue since they carelessly removed this option 8 years ago (although even then you had to fiddle in the registry to avoid it).

Literally window dressing.

Most important thing they are doing right now is WSLg.

Duuude!
This issue has literally been the bane of my existence daily.
Each time my monitors exit sleep mode and I have to spend half a minute rearranging windows I want to sh*t a cow.
Also the time spent researching this issue only to realize nothing really resolves it.... uugh.

I know Windows bashing is a thing but apart from some issues I really like most of windows...Definitely lots of UI changes that need to be made though, the way settings are being handled still sucks, but it's been getting better.

Looking forward to this.
