Saw this posted somewhere. It happened during the weekend in the Anderlecht v Standard Liege match.

Absolutely horrible. Not for the faint hearted.

It was a terrible tackle as well and the guy should be used as an example of how and why not to make a tackle like that.

In my opinion a 3 match ban is not long enough for a tackle like that.

I believe in soccer they need to do something about diving, bad tackles and goal line incidents.

Ban the Fu%^er for as long as the injured guy is out. Diving should be a 3 match ban and they should bring in hawk eye as well.

Such tackles are "career-enders" and thus the tackler should also be banned forever. The injured player will fully recover his confidence in that leg and will pull out of 50-50 situations in future.

Killa what do you mean with diving(what in blue did)?

Huh? How will hawk eye help anything? You referring to the ball possibly crossing the goal line? It won't work imo. It's not accurate enough...

I'm capped so can only watch the video tomorrow but I saw a video a few months back of broken leg tackles. Scary how a man's leg can snap like a twig :/

Very good point about the tackle being a career ender.

I mean the guy can be a promising player and his career is ended by a malicious tackle. And then you've got the tackler who says sorry, is banned for 3 matches and happily plays football until he retires by choice.

Absolute BS if you ask me, ban the idjit.

not hawk eye as such, just if there is a question if it crossed they go to replay and bam within 30 seconds we would know.

They spend about 2 minutes arguing about it anyhow.
no worse than eduardo's tackle because he clearly was looking to do damage where as with Eduardo it was just badly timed tackle.

The Eduardo tackle was just mistimed and unlucky. This has clear intent. The red dude has his eyes on the player the whole time and never goes for the ball. Lifetime ban if you ask me.

For the Eduardo incident, the red card was punishment enough.

Who was it that threw the punch mid-air (pretending to head the ball) and sent his opposite number to hospital unconscious? It was an EPL match from about 3 or 4 years ago. I could have sworn that was Bowyer, but I might be confusing that incident with his fight on pitch (one of his many). Anyone recall that incident and who it was?

This tackle actually reminds me of Essien's tackle on Hamann in 2005. Miracle his leg wasn't broken.

Another horror tackle was Hunt sticking his knee into Cech's head and cracking his skull. Last season Sheffield United's Captain cracked a players skull with elbow as well.
