I think this question might have been asked (well kinda)
I want to find out which route (ISP) gives you best performance for online gaming. At the moment im on a standard 3GB saix account.
Howmuch bandwith does gaming take? Im wanting to find out if there are guys that offer like a 100mb on a account thats good for gaming. Then when i want to game i can just log onto that account.
Is there anything like this out there? Or am i missing this boat by like a mile?

Yea - I begged and begged for a pay for what you use gaming style ADSL account, nothing transpired.

How much bandwidth :: FPS = 100MB an hour :: RPG = 50MB an hour [?? About], also depends on the lag, the lower the lag, the more bandwidth chewed.

For FPS's you need low lag to remain competitive, so these you'll typically play locally.

The FreeCap service provides a means of getting good lowish lags to overseas sites provided that your lag to the freecap server is below (about) 40ms.

Um - I would LOVE ISP's to sell us a product where that say - "Good for local gaming / good for gaming in the UK / Good for gaming in AUZ ...", but i'm just dreaming - the wa it stands now, if it's good one day, don't expect it to be good the next, the ISP's are allowed to change routing any time they feel like. It sucks.

Well for those interested, I will launch something like what Relik asked and it will be gauranteed and it will be within your budget. Ill be hosting it on 100mbit, so theres enough bandwidth to cater for concurrent users to max out their connections(if they want with some arb game/application) and the service will give you the lowest possible ping.

Current pricing structure would be something like. R130 for 500mb and R200-R220 per gig and will work upwards to 4gig accounts with discount up to 4gig in comparison. We are just finalising some arrangements on bandwidth costs and the likes to finalise the pricing and make the service live for June.

And yes, this will be unshaped bandwidth gauranteed bandwidth that would be utilised over vpn for simplicity.

Clipse - sweetie - lovie - honey. Um. DAMN - Stupid 1 year AYCE contract. Sigh.
Only 9 months to go ...

I'd like to give that one a shot - About R130 for 500MB ? Yup, Yup. Could work. Concurrent users ???

lol yes honey bun, I think the price is low enough to make it affordable per user(sorry - trying to keep the cost per account as low as possible)

So ya its 1 user per account, depending on your needs the different sizes should be sufficient for all different scenarios.

Accounts will run month to month(date of month->date of month) if you signup 20th of June, the account will be usable till 20th of July etc. If there is any demand for a smaller package, ie. 250mb or so, we will look into that as I know that few people might consider a 250mb package even.

These are the few limitations we put in place, in order to make it as affordable as it is.

Can you dig it honey? :P We are working on a whole new parent company to launch together with this package, that would include easy "top-up" etc. and buying accounts. ie. alot of automation coming your way hehehe

More information to follow, Im seriously going to try get the cost even lower.
