In February I paid for an Apple iPhone 11 Pro 256GB @ R12500 from GadgetLogistics.co.za.
3 Days later I got this mail:
Good morning,

It has just been brought to our notice that our courier services
failed to deliver your order. Thomas one of our driver was involved
in an accident on his way travelling to your destination during the
Midday hours of Thursday (Yesterday). It was indeed a tragedy as we
were told during late hours yesterday. The driver was terribly
injured but is on speedy recovery as we were being updated this
morning as well. The cause of the accident was due to a reckless
truck driver who missed his turn and decided to continue straight
and beat the red reboot while he was on speed..
It was also confirmed that most goods were stolen at the accident
scene before the cops arrived.
We kindly request that you grant us the privilege to get this issue
sorted out.
Please advice if we should arrange for a return or process your
full refund of the total amount paid.
Kindly get back to us as soon as possible with your preferred
decision.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this unfortunate occurrence

Regards.
SALES DEPARTMENT.

I contacted them for a refund and they said it was being 'processed'.
This story went on for week after week then the lockdown became the excuse until they suddenly vanished.
After weeks of trying to call them and many unanswered emails, their website suddenly disappeared (gadgetlogistics.co.za). From reading up now on this thread, I have finally got the confirmation I was dreading...
Seriously, is there NOTHING we can do to catch these thieves? Surely there are enough cases for us to get together and track them down or can we kiss our hard-earned cash goodbye?

Online stores with no card payments I skip as i am protected with the charge back process.

FB market place, gumtree, olx, etc only face to face deals.

MyBB classified buying or selling only with regular posters.

Not have any issues yet.

Dude, the first and main red flag is the price. Like seriously are people that gullible. And on top.of that, a non CC transaction?

Hi Everyone,

A colleague of mine was recently scammed by what appears to be the same group. They are now operating under http://firstgadgets.co.za. Can anyone confirm if the website looks similar to previous sites?

I got suspicious after hearing he bought an iPad from the site at a ridiculously low price. For example, they have a pre-owned 2019 16" 1TB MacBook Pro listed for R23000.00. A couple of days after ordering, he sent this, asking if the company is legit (blocking his info for the sake of privacy).

My first check was a WHOIS lookup on the domain, which yielded a not-so-encouraging result: It was only registered in June of this year. (Note the hosting provider matches the provider described earlier in this thread)

Colleague checked out the source code of the website (in any Browser just right click and then click View Source) and found references to rsarobotics.co.za, which sounds similar to other domains mentioned in this thread, although not an exact match.

This looks to be the same group, with all the above taken into account. Colleague is in the process of opening a case with SAPS and working with his bank's fraud department. Is there anything we can do to get their site and account shut down at the hosting provider?

Hope this helps others out there!
