Agreed, it is not everyone's cup of tea, but it does look better than the Up!

Would be awesome if they also bring in the Adam OPC once it goes into production, it will annihilate Polos, Golfs, S1s and S3s.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha

What world do you live in?

The rally version of the Adam makes ~140kw

Even if they up that to 150kw for the road version it will be much, much slower than anything you mentioned except may the new Polo GTI which should have around 140kw when launched.

I was not only referring to raw power output, obviously power to weight ratios should be taken into account. Then there is the looks, unless you are competing this something that looks like a concrete building block then nothing from VAG will come out tops.

VW will still outsell Opel at least by a margin of 5 to 1.:p

At Rouxemantor: My mom used to drive these when I was still a little boy. The first one was absolutely k@k. We hated that frekking thing! And then one day out of the blue my dad arrived at home with the convertible. We nearly shat ourselves! We were like totally the coolest family in Springbok. They even used our car for the Yearly Skou Koningin and her Prinsesse to be paraded down the main street :)

Tsek! That little convertible was such a cool little car! Until it rained the one time in two years and it leaked like a frekking sieve! Seriously.....water was coming in everywhere! Luckily Springbok gets rain like once a year, so was no biggie. :D

Up until the Astra F they still had occasional oil leaks on older cars, but since then nothing of the kind. Coolant leaks yes, but show me an old German car that has not had a coolant leak of sorts?

Same can be said for Ford. But as of late they build AMAZING CARS!

That being said, Japanese motors are still best of them all. My Mitsubishi Colt has close to 300k on the clock and not one single fault. Apart from how thirsty it is. O and I needed to change the voltage regulator on the alternator about 2 weeks back.

Americans love Kitsch though...

I've yet to be in an american car that doesn't have some degree of kitsch in the interior. The Europeans and Koreans and Japs absolutely smoke them on Interiors.

Spent last week in Germany, and had a look at the Mokka. Nice little car. BUT I also looked at the VW UP! in the flesh, and I know which one of the two I would spend my money on had I lived over there.

The Up! Is awesome, can't argue with that. Yet VWSA won't bring it to SA cause they would rather sell old cars like the Vivo. The Adam is a bit more upmarket than the Up!

I sat in a friend's new Vivo recently. Felt like I'd been transported back 10 years. I wonder how long VWSA will continue selling this heap. The sales figures are mind boggling.
